PROCEDURE SIMULATOR AND PROCEDURE TRAINING METHOD USING THE SAME

A procedure simulator is provided, which includes a first storage tank configured to store a liquid imitating blood; a tissue model including a plurality of bifurcated flow paths being bifurcated downstream via a plurality of bifurcated portions; a pump configured to supply the liquid to the tissue model; a second storage tank configured to store the liquid to be flowed out from the plurality of bifurcated flow paths; a plurality of pipes configured to connect an outlet of a bifurcated flow path to the second storage tank; a plurality of switching valves configured to selectively causing the bifurcated flow path to communicate with a drain flow path from which the liquid is discharged below the tissue model; and a filter member between the switching valve and the outlet of the bifurcated flow path of the plurality of bifurcated flow paths.

Systems and methods for a multi-modality phantom having an interchangeable insert

A multi-modality phantom is provided. The multi-modality phantom includes a container and an insert. The container defines an exterior that is separated from an interior space and designed to receive a tissue-mimicking medium for an ultrasound imaging process. The container further includes at least one access port formed in the container to perform the ultrasound imaging process of the interior space. The insert can be dimensioned to be selectively arranged within the interior space of the container. The insert includes imaging features arranged to simulate an environment and constructed to yield simultaneous imaging results when performing the ultrasound imaging process and at least one non-ultrasound imaging process.

Method for obtaining a numerical model associating an objective measurement to a subjective sensation using ultrasound imaging technique and associated device

The invention relates to a method for obtaining a numerical model, the numerical model associating at least one objective measurement to a subjective sensation, the method comprising the steps of: a) imaging the at least one area of the brain by using unfocused waves produced by a transcranial ultrasound probe (20), to obtain at least one acquired image of the activity of the area, b) evaluating a physical quantity representative of the activity of the at least one area based on the acquired images, to obtain at least one objective measurement, c) obtaining from the subject at least one numerical value representative of a subjective sensation, and d) determining the numerical model by using the obtained objective measurement and the obtained numerical value.

Tuned medical ultrasound imaging

Machine learning trains to tune settings. For training, the user interactions with the image parameters (i.e., settings) as part of ongoing examination of patients are used to establish the ground truth positive and negative examples of settings instead of relying on an expert review of collected samples. Patient information, location information, and/or user information may also be included in the training data so that the network is trained to provide settings for different situations based on the included information. During application, the patient is imaged. The initial or subsequent image is input with other information (e.g., patient, user, and/or location information) to the machine-trained network to output settings to be used for improved imaging in the situation.

Ultrasound trainer with internal optical tracking

A training system to teach use of an ultrasound probe, the training system having a chamber defining an orifice, a shaft insertable into the orifice of the chamber, a marker positioned on the shaft at a distal end, a camera positioned to view the marker when inserted inside the chamber, and a processor operatively connected to the camera for processing a position and an orientation of the shaft based on the marker. The system provides a method for visualizing movement of the shaft from inside the chamber.

Quantum state visualization device

A quantum state visualization device comprising at least a portion of a spherical shell and a support structure affixed to the spherical shell. A portion of the support structure can intersect a center of the spherical shell. The quantum state visualization device further comprising a indicator pivotally attached to the support structure at the portion of the support structure intersecting the center of the spherical shell. The indicator is representative of a quantum state based on its position relative to the spherical shell.

In certain embodiments, the present disclosure provides an anthropomorphic phantom for use with cryoneurolysis training. The anthropomorphic phantom having a body shaped to simulate a human anatomical structure. In some forms, the phantom body comprises a first material configured to simulate human soft tissue, a simulated nerve embedded within the first material, and a simulated fascial plane embedded within the first material superficial to the simulated nerve.

MEDICAL DEVICE PACKAGING WITH INTEGRATED TRAINING OR TEACHING SIMULATOR

A package is defined by an enclosure sized for retaining a medical diagnostic instrument and/or instrument supplies. A teaching aid, which simulates at least one medical target of interest, is directly integrated into the package for use with a medical diagnostic instrument. In at least one version, a sales demonstration aid is integrated with the packaging to highlight an enhanced field of view of the medical diagnostic instrument and provide a comparative field of view with other similar instruments.

Ultrasound imaging system and method for displaying an acquisition quality level

A system and a method of ultrasound imaging includes acquiring ultrasound data, acquiring a quality parameter while acquiring the ultrasound data, determining an acquisition quality level based on the quality parameter, displaying an image generated based on the ultrasound data and displaying an ROI on the ultrasound image, where a color of the ROI represents the acquisition quality level.

System and method for converting handheld diagnostic ultrasound systems into ultrasound training systems

A system and method for converting a commercial diagnostic ultrasound transducer into a medical training device that is used for simulated ultrasound training; or a system and method for adding a training option to a standard ultrasound diagnostic system by attaching a motion sensor accessory to the commercial diagnostic ultrasound transducer.
