Venues map application and system

In some implementations, a computing device can provide a map application providing a representation of a physical structure of venues (e.g., shopping centers, airports) identified by the application. In addition, the application can provide an inside view that includes the physical layout and geometry of the venue's structure as well as the location, structure and layout of points of interest (e.g., stores, security check points, restrooms) within the venue. The views become more detailed as the user zooms into the venue to reveal points of interest and to give the user a feel for traversing the venue.

Vehicle map service system

Provided are methods, systems, devices, and tangible non-transitory computer readable media for providing data including vehicle map service data. The disclosed technology can perform operations including receiving vehicle map service data from a plurality of service systems that include a plurality of client systems associated with a vehicle. The vehicle map service data can include information associated with a geographic area. A local map of the geographic area within a predetermined distance of the vehicle can be generated based on the vehicle map service data. Portions of the local map to which each client system is subscribed can be determined for each client system of the plurality of client systems. Additionally, the portions of the local map to which each client system is subscribed can be sent to a respective client system of the plurality of client systems.

Generation of a plurality of orthomosaic image layers for a geographical area, wherein the layers comprise different spatial resolutions and are radiometrically normalized to facilitate improved radiometric consistency when zooming relative to the geographic area. In applications that facilitate zooming with respect to a geographic area imaged by the orthomosaic layers, radiometric normalization of the orthomosaic image layers may reduce radiometric discontinuities when zooming in, zooming out, and/or panning a displayed portion that is output to the user. The orthomosaic layers may be generated based on one or more orthomosaic image layer or may be developed independently using a source images. In any regard, the radiometric normalization may include generating a normalization function based on image metadata that is calculated and may be independent of the spatial resolution of the image.

Methods and system for providing digital audio mapping are provided wherein data representing real or virtual worlds is obtained from internal or external data sources and used to generate a digital auditory map that can be navigated using auditory sound cues. The digital audio map can be created by a digital audio map generator and presented to the user through a digital audio map presentation interface. The digital audio map presentation interface can provide multiple navigation modes to the user, including a tree-based mode, a grid-based mode, and a first-person-based mode. The user is able to dynamically select the preferred navigation mode.

Information processing device for constructing an occupied map for a mobile robot

An information processing device includes a detection section configured to acquire the presence or absence of an object at the periphery of a mobile robot as the detection information, a control section configured to control the detection section, and a map construction section configured to construct an occupied map. The map construction section includes a storage configured to store the detection information in chronological order, a map producer configured to produce a map based on the detection information, a normal line acquirer configured to acquire a normal line to each determination point based on the presence or absence of the object at the periphery of each determination point on the temporal map produced by the map producer, and a validity determinator configured to determine the validity of the detection information on each determination point based on an angle between each beam and the normal line at each determination point.
