20250022387 · 2025-01-16 · ·

A sticker including an adhesive layer configured to be attached to skin a colorant layer. The colorant layer includes a mechanoresponsive material and a plurality of microcapsules comprising a colorant. The microcapsules are disposed within the mechanoresponsive material and the mechanoresponsive material is configured to release the microcapsules when the sticker is exposed to mechanical stress.

Method and dye mixtures for marking shape memory polymers, and shape memory polymer articles with switchable readability

A method for marking an item including a shape memory polymer (SMP) having a visual readable and/or machine readable graphic element on the surface of the item. The method includes pretreating the surface of the item; coloring the surface of the item with a dye solution containing an organic dye and an organic solvent; cleaning and drying the surface of the item; and engraving by at least partially ablating the surface of the item. The dyeing process is suitable for coloring the surface of a shape memory polymer (SMP), wherein the information is engraved in a form of a code or other label on the colored surface. The coloring causes an increased contrast and thus facilitates machine readability of marking and coding without affecting the other properties of the SMP.

TEMPERATURE INDICATION LABELS

Temperature indication labels, including low temperature ascending indication labels, that provide a visible color change when a temperature rises above a target temperature, in some applications a target temperature below room temperature. For low temperature ascending indication labels, the indicator needs activated by cooling or freezing. A transparent polymer layer is present over a deposition of a temperature indication composition in a suitable thickness to protect (insulate) the same from environmental interference, such that the temperature indication composition better reflects the temperature of the thermal mass to which it is adhered and intended to monitor. One example application a low temperature ascending indication label is a blood bag filled with blood, which is stored at 6 C. and transported at 10 C. Another is refrigerated storage of medical items and food to be stored in a range of 2 C. to 8 C.

LIGHT BLOCKING LABELS

A light-blocking label configured to be affixed to an article made of a polymeric material such as polyethylene terephthalate (PET), high density polyethylene (HDPE), other similar polymeric materials, or some combination thereof. The light-blocking label includes a light-blocking ink layer that may be reverse printed onto the label substrate while other ink layers (e.g., white ink layer, color ink layer) may be surface printed on the label substrate. The light-blocking label may also include an optional varnish and/or adhesive layer. In some embodiments, the label substrate and article comprise PET and are configured to be collected as recycled PET (i.e., a recyclable light blocking label). In such an embodiment, the one or more ink layers and optional layers in the light-blocking may be configured to be removed prior to collection of the light-blocking label as recycled PET.

Film for wrapping and manufacturing method thereof

A film for wrapping including a heat shrinkable film shrinkable when the heat shrinkable film reaches a predetermined temperature, and a capsule layer formed at one surface of the heat shrinkable film while including a plurality of microcapsules is disclosed. Electrophoretic particles are included in the microcapsules. Accordingly, a color or text represented at the film for wrapping is variable.
