Portable grill having low-temperature exterior casing

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a highly portable grill having an outer casing enclosing an inner cook box that acts as a heatsink to dissipate thermal energy, the outer casing being mechanically attached to the inner cook box at attachment points that function as thermal chokepoints for controlled conduction of thermal energy. In an illustrative example, the inner cook box may be mechanically attached to the outer casing via complementary screws and bosses to provide a limited thermal conduction pathway. The inner cook box may include a plurality of fins for added thermal energy dissipation. The outer casing may include a plurality of convection apertures to facilitate convective flow of thermal energy from the inner cook box to an external ambient environment. A limited thermal conduction pathway may beneficially allow the outer casing to be safe-to-touch while the inner cook box is still in use.

A compactible and portable and apparatus can be implemented in the form of free-standing portable propane fueled cooking device, which utilizes two support panels connected rotatably connected at their mid-section to support scissor-like action while deploying or closing the two support panels and a burner support panel that is deployable between the two support panels to support a burner and a cooking surface. The device permits use of a fuel source such as a standard propane tank. This design creates a very compact unit because the first and second support panels, the burner support panel and the burner and flame controller can be compacted into a flat profile for easy transport.

Insert for cooking apparatus

An insert is provided for use in a cooking apparatus that alters the pressure profile, air velocity profile, and airflow pattern within said cooking apparatus in order to achieve a cyclonic air profile around food to be cooked. The insert includes a ring-shaped insert body formed by a continuous sidewall. The sidewall has an external surface and an internal surface, and a top end and a bottom end. The insert also includes a deflection plate.

Portable grills

Portable grills are disclosed. An example portable grill movable between an erected configuration and a collapsed configuration includes a frame and a leg unit coupled to the frame. The leg unit includes a first leg, a second leg spaced apart from the first leg, and a foldable foot pivotally coupled to and extending between the first and second legs. The foldable foot is movable relative to the first and second legs between an unfolded configuration and a folded configuration. The foldable foot contacts an underlying surface to support the portable grill when the foldable foot is unfolded and the portable grill is erected and oriented horizontally relative to the underlying surface. The foldable foot provides a handle by which the portable grill can be picked up when the foldable foot is folded and the portable grill is collapsed and oriented horizontally relative to the underlying surface.

A grill stove includes a kettle, legs, and a lid. The kettle includes an outer wall with a ventilation aperture, an inner wall, and a top collar extending between the inner wall and the outer wall and connecting the top portion of the outer wall to the top portion of the inner wall to form a dual-walled kettle. A base pan may be attached to the outer wall and may form a bottom of the kettle. A nest pan may have an edge and a ventilation aperture. The edge of the nest pan may be attached to the bottom portion of the inner wall and disposed above the base pan. The nest pan and the base pan being spaced apart to form a gap therebetween. The ventilation aperture of the nest pan may be in fluid communication with the ventilation aperture of the outer wall. An ash pan may be removably positionable above the nest pan.
