The side light-emitting display device having a frame member includes a display assembly configured to guide light to a side surface of the display assembly while displaying an image using light emitted from light sources; a transparent frame member which is configured to surround and fix the display assembly and through which the light guided to the side surface of the display assembly is transmitted; and a side display member provided on a side surface of the transparent frame member, and configured to display information of the image using the light guided to the side surface of the display assembly.

A light guide plate display device includes a light guide plate, a plurality of light source devices, and a plurality of prisms. The light guide plate includes a display face and a plurality of end faces, and is formed of a light transmitting material. The light source devices are provided along respective end faces of the light guide plate, and radiate light from the end face toward an inside of the light guide plate. The prisms are formed inside the light guide plate. The prisms respectively have a plurality of side faces which face the respective light source devices. The respective side faces are inclined at least in two stages of a transmitting inclined face which transmits light radiated from the light source device, and a reflecting inclined face which reflects the light radiated from the light source device, and outputs the light to the display face, in a thickness direction of the light guide plate.

Marketing strips having a light source and a flexible viscoelastic lightguide for displaying products or product related information, or illuminating a graphic on the marketing strip and products adjacent it. Light from the light source enters the viscoelastic lightguide and is transported within the lightguide by total internal reflection until the light exits from surfaces of the lightguide and through the graphic. The viscoelastic lightguide can include a pressure-sensitive adhesive, which adheres the lightguide to the marketing strip and enhances structural support for it. The light from the lightguide can illuminate products and labels on the marketing strip. The lightguide can also include a bevelled edge with light exiting the edge downward and backward from the marketing strip to illuminate products it.

A cover glass has a surface area is positioned in front of and substantially parallel with the electronic display such that the surface area substantially covers the viewing area. A reflective layer located on and substantially coextensive with said cover glass is partially silvered where the reflective layer is located above the viewing area and substantially fully silvered on the remaining surface thereof.

A cover glass has a surface area is positioned in front of and substantially parallel with the electronic display such that the surface area substantially covers the viewing area. A reflective layer located on and substantially coextensive with said cover glass is partially silvered where the reflective layer is located above the viewing area and substantially fully silvered on the remaining surface thereof.
