20210158729 · 2021-05-27 ·

The mounting bracket systems are used in pairs to support a banner on a vehicle. In a first embodiment, the system includes opposing masts having upper and lower extending tabs adapted for attaching a banner between the masts, an annular flange disposed around the mast, and a lower mast end inserted into a bushing attached to a vehicle by U-shaped mounting straps. In a second embodiment, the system includes opposing masts having upper and lower extending tabs adapted for attaching a banner between the masts. The bottom end of each mast is attached to a platform having an elongate U-shaped pocket insert having planar walls extending from the platform opposite the mast. The pocket inserts are adapted for insertion into stake pockets common to trucks and trailers that haul oversize loads. A clevis pin may be inserted through opposing walls of the pocket insert below the stake pocket.

APPARATUS AND METHODOLOGY FOR CUSTOMIZING VEHICLE SIGNAGE
20210158728 · 2021-05-27 ·

Aspects are disclosed that facilitate customizing vehicle signage. In a particular aspect, a signage is disclosed which includes a mica cover positioned within the perimeter of a frame. The signage further includes a light source configured to direct light towards a backside of the mica cover, and a logo component positioned on the backside of the mica cover. In a particular aspect, the light source is configured to illuminate a logo by transmitting light through the logo component so that the illuminated logo is viewable from the frontside of the mica cover. An attachment mechanism is also included, which is configured to attach the signage to a vehicle.

An electronic display device includes: a chassis including a plurality of mounting elements and an antenna, a power supply, a controller, a media player, a gateway, and a terminal; and a display panel comprising a plurality of display modules mounted to the mounting elements, wherein each display module includes a video display on a front surface of the display module and is positioned relative to the chassis using one or more locating pins located on a back surface of the display module that cooperate with one or more receiving holes in a front surface of the mounting elements, is magnetically secured to the chassis, and is locked in place relative to each respective mounting element using a locking mechanism, such that each individual display module may be secured or removed from the chassis independently; wherein the controller causes the media player to display media content on the display panel.

ILLUMINATED MARKERS FOR VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION AND MONITORING AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A marker system for a vehicle comprises a marker structure bearing an augmented reality (AR) code visible on a surface thereof, and an illumination source configured and positioned to provide sufficient contrast between the AR code and adjacent portion of the marker structure at the surface to enable a camera aimed at the surface to detect the AR for recognition thereof. Related systems and methods are also disclosed.

VEHICLE WITH CONTEXT SENSITIVE INFORMATION PRESENTATION
20210097905 · 2021-04-01 · ·

Vehicles, components, and methods present information based on context, for example presenting a first list or menu of items (e.g., food) or first set of signage or color scheme when in a first location or during a first period, and presenting a second list or menu of items (e.g., food) or second set of signage or color scheme when in a second location or during a second period. For instance, a first menu of items (e.g., relatively more expensive entrees, beverages) may be displayed via one or more displays or screens at a first location during a first period, and a second menu of items (e.g., relatively less expensive entrees, beverages) may be displayed at a second location during a second period. Context (e.g., present location, destination, date, day, period of time, event, size of crowd, movement of crowd, weather) may be manually provided, or autonomously discerned, and presentation automatically.

VEHICLE BODYWORK DISPLAY SCREEN

A bodywork panel (13,28) for a vehicle such as a racing car (1,2) or a racing motor cycle (27) is fitted with one or more optically clear panels (16), which are profiled to follow the aerodynamic form of the bodywork panel (13,28). A flexible reflective display screen (17), for examples based on e-paper, is mounted to an inner face of each optically clear panel (16) such that an image on the display screen (17) is visible outside the vehicle through the optically clear panel (16). A paint finish on the bodywork panel (13,28) continues over a peripheral region of each optically clear panel (16), concealing a join between it and the bodywork panel (13,28). Images displayed on the display screens (17) via a display controller (25) can thus appear like painted graphics on the bodywork panel (13,28), except that they may be changed as desired. Thus, graphics on the vehicle, such as advertising and sponsorship logos, can be changed at will during a race. Leathers (30,40) worn by racing motor cyclists can be fitted with similar display screens (17) mounted behind optically clear flexible plastic panels (42) sewn to the leathers (30,40).

ILLUMINATION DEVICE, DESIGN METHOD OF ILLUMINATION DEVICE, AND DESIGN DEVICE OF ILLUMINATION DEVICE

An illumination device, which projects a projection pattern including information onto a projection plane, includes a light source that emits a coherent light beam, and a diffractive optical element that diffracts the coherent light beam from the light source and projects the projection pattern. The diffractive optical element has a diffraction characteristic that allow an observer who sees the projection pattern from a viewpoint position in a first line-of-sight direction based on a position and a direction of the diffractive optical element, to visually recognize the information with a predetermined size, a predetermined shape and a predetermined inclination angle.

Illumination device for projecting light in a predetermined illumination pattern on a surface

Described herein is an illumination device for projecting light in a predetermined illumination pattern on a surface. The illumination device includes a light module having a light source and a light pipe configured to transmit light in any suitable manner. The illumination device also includes a housing having a cavity, an entrance opening for receiving the light emitted from the light source, and an aperture at a second housing end. Within the housing between the entrance opening and the aperture is a screen at least partially disposed in the cavity, the screen having at least one opening defining a base pattern configuration corresponding to the predetermined illumination pattern. The light pipe is configured to selectively transmit light from the light source to the cavity and may be linear or non-linear such that the light source and the surface to be illuminated do not need to face one another.

HALO LIGHTED BADGE

An illuminated automotive badge is described. The illuminated automotive badge comprises an emblem, a light guide, and an LED assembly. The LED assembly may comprise a plurality of LEDs attached to a mount. A light guide may be disposed over the LED assembly. The light guide has optical properties that spread the light emitted from the LEDs to the edges of the emblem. As such, the light emitted by the LEDs provides an indirect light source for illuminating the emblem. The illuminated automotive badge may further comprise a housing configured to block stray light.
