Varying display refresh rate
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for enabling a variable refresh rate on a display. One of the methods includes receiving, from a content presentation device, a first signal set to a first value; completing generation of first visual content; and after completing the generation of the first visual content, determining that the first signal is set to the first value and a second threshold duration of time has not expired; sending, to the content presentation device, the first visual content, wherein sending the first visual content causes the content presentation device to change the first signal from the first value to the second value; and after sending the first visual content, receiving, from the content presentation device, the first signal set to the second value.
Selective pixel output
In one embodiment, a computing system may write a first set of pixel values in a tile order into a first buffer with the pixel values organized into a first set of tiles. The system may generate first validity data for the first set of tiles. The first validity data may include a validity indicator for each tile to indicate if that tile is a valid tile. The system may read from the first buffer a first subset of pixel values in a pixel row order corresponding to pixel rows of the first set of tiles based on the valid data. The first subset of pixel values may be associated with valid tiles of the first set of tiles. The system may send the first subset of pixel values and the first validity data of the first set of tiles to a display via an output data bus.

Electronic device for dynamically adjusting refresh rate of display
An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a memory, a display driver integrated circuit (DDIC), a display, and a processor that generates an image frame, transmits the image frame to the DDIC, and controls the DDIC to drive the display based on the image frame. The DDIC outputs a first timing signal at a first frame period, outputs a second timing signal at a second frame period longer than the first frame period when the reception of the image frame is delayed, and outputs a third timing signal at a third frame period longer than the first frame period and shorter than the second frame period when the image frame is not received for a designated reference time after the second timing signal is output.

System for capturing images from applications rendering video to a native platform with a graphics rendering library
A method, system and computer-usable medium are disclosed for capturing an image rendered by a target application. One general aspect includes a computer-implemented method for capturing an image, the method including: intercepting API calls made by a target application to a graphics display driver, where the API calls made to the graphics display driver by the target application are made using a graphics rendering API library; and using the intercepted API calls to construct a copy of a frame buffer of the image, where the copy of the frame buffer is constructed independent of the graphics display driver. Certain embodiments may include corresponding stand-alone and/or network computer systems, apparatus, and computer programs recorded on one or more computer storage devices, each configured to perform one or more of these actions.
