POWER SUPPLY UNIT OF AEROSOL GENERATING DEVICE
A power supply unit of an aerosol generating device includes: an accommodating portion configured to accommodate a columnar cartridge that stores an aerosol source. A first electrode portion including a plurality of electrodes is provided on an end surface of the cartridge, the accommodating portion includes a second electrode portion in a region facing the end surface, and the second electrode portion includes more electrodes, which are contactable with the electrodes provided in the first electrode portion, than a total number of the electrodes provided in the first electrode portion.
Smoking article incorporating a conductive substrate
The present invention provides a conductive substrate useful for Joule heating, such as in an electronic smoking article. Particularly, the invention provides a resistive heating element formed of a conductive substrate. The conductive substrate comprises an electrically conductive material and a carbonaceous additive, such as a binder material. The conductive substrate is carbonized in that it is subjected to calcining conditions to effectively reduce the carbonaceous additive to its carbon skeleton. It has been found that such carbonized substrate has surprisingly improved resistance properties in relation a substrate of the same formulation that is not carbonized. The carbonized substrate can include an aerosol precursor material. The formed resistive heating element can be included in an electronic smoking article to simultaneously provide resistive heating and aerosol formation with a single, unitary component.

Power supply unit for aerosol inhaler and control method and program of power supply unit for aerosol inhaler
A power supply unit for an aerosol inhaler includes: a case; a power supply that discharges power to a load for generating an aerosol from an aerosol generation source; a discharging terminal that connects the load to the power supply; a charging terminal that connects the power supply to an external power supply and is separated from the discharging terminal; a temperature measuring unit that measures temperature of the power supply; and a control device that controls an effective value of a first charging current to a value smaller than an effective value of a second charging current. The first charging current is supplied to the power supply when a measurement value of the temperature measuring unit is equal to or higher than a first threshold and the second charging current is supplied to the power supply when the measurement value is lower than the first threshold.
Aerosol delivery device with graded porosity from inner to outer wall surfaces
The present disclosure relates to a flavor delivery article, a mouthpiece, a cartridge, and/or an aerosol delivery device that includes such flavor delivery article. The flavor delivery article includes a hollow elongate unit formed of a substantially continuous wall extending between a first end and a second end and defining an interior storage volume, the substantially continuous wall being formed of a porous material having a graded porosity across a thickness of the substantially continuous wall. The flavor delivery article further includes a flavor liquid contained with the interior storage volume of the hollow elongate unit. The flavor delivery article may be positioned anywhere within an aerosol delivery device (or a mouthpiece or a cartridge of an aerosol delivery device) wherein the flavor liquid may pass through the substantially continuous wall to be entrained in an air stream and/or vapor stream and/or aerosol stream passing through the aerosol delivery device.
AEROSOL-GENERATING DEVICE
An aerosol-generating device is disclosed. The aerosol-generating device includes a housing; a cartridge disposed in the housing and including a first container and a second container which are rotatably coupled, wherein the second container includes a plurality of chambers which are isolated from each other; a dial gear disposed in the housing and configured to rotate about a rotating shaft parallel to a rotating shaft of the second container; and a cartridge gear coupled to the second container and engaged with the dial gear such that rotation of the dial gear causes rotation of the second container via the cartridge gear.
