User-mountable extended reality (XR) device

Method and apparatus for selectively presenting content
Input data is obtained. A viewer's eye disposition is determined, and the viewer's field of view determined therefrom. First and second portions of the field of view are defined considering a contextual factor, and visual output data is generated from the input data considering the contextual factor. The output data is displayed on a first region of a see-through near-eye display so as to appear in the first portion of said field of view. The output data is excluded from a second region of the display so as not to obstruct the second portion of the field of view. Shifts in eye disposition and field of view are determined. The first and second display regions are updated to maintain the correspondence, such that the output data does not perceptibly change responsive to the shift in the field of view of the viewer.
BRIGHTNESS RANGE
An example display system includes a brightness engine, a pupil engine, and an adjuster engine. The brightness engine identifies a brightness range and the pupil engine identifies a pupil size property. The adjuster engine modifies a display property based on an adjustment to the brightness range based on the pupil size property. In another example, executable instructions cause identification of a brightness level within a range corresponding to a tolerance of pupil constriction and cause adjustment of a display property when the display brightness level is expected to exceed the pupil constriction tolerance. In an example method, a brightness range is identified that corresponds to a maximum constriction and maximum dilation of a pupil, content data that exceeds the brightness range is identified, and a display is caused to present the content data within the brightness range.

A display apparatus for the work machine includes a fuel consumption index calculating section that calculates a first fuel consumption index by dividing the operation time of the operation device by the fuel consumption amount of the engine or dividing the fuel consumption amount of the engine by the operation time of the operation device. The first fuel consumption index calculated by the fuel consumption index calculating section is displayed on a display section in real time.

A display control apparatus includes a viewing condition recognition circuit, a content classification circuit, and a display adjustment circuit. The viewing condition recognition circuit recognizes a viewing condition associated with a display device to generate a viewing condition recognition result. The content classification circuit analyzes an input frame to generate a content classification result of contents included in the input frame. The display adjustment circuit generates an output frame by performing image content adjustment according to the viewing condition recognition result and the content classification result, wherein the image content adjustment comprises at least content-adaptive adjustment applied to at least a portion of pixel positions of the input frame based on the content classification result.
Method of driving display panel by compensating for flicker and display apparatus thereof
A method of driving a display panel includes dividing an input image into a plurality of segments, generating a flicker value of a segment of the plurality of segments, determining whether to compensate the flicker value of the segment or not according to a segment size, compensating the flicker value of the segment based on the segment size, determining a frame rate of the display panel based on the flicker value of the segment and outputting a data voltage to the display panel in the frame rate. The flicker value of the segment is compensated based on the flicker value of the segment and flicker values of segments that are adjacent to the segment.

HVAC control system encouraging energy efficient user behaviors in plural interactive contexts
Methods and devices for controlling a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system by a thermostat are provided. Input can be received from a user via a thermostat, the input being indicative of an adjustment of an HVAC-related setting. On a real-time basis, the HVAC-related setting that is being adjusted can be compared against a feedback criterion designed to indicate a circumstance under which feedback is to be presented to the user. The circumstance can be indicative of an achievement of a HVAC-related setting of a predetermined responsibility level with respect to an energy usage of the HVAC system. Upon a real-time determination that the feedback criterion is satisfied, visual feedback can be caused to be presented to the user in real-time. The real-time feedback can include a visual icon having a visual appeal corresponding to a desirability of the satisfaction of the feedback criterion.
