In one embodiment, a method for managing thermal dissipation in a display of an information handling system includes: emitting, by a light source of the display, a visible light within the display, the visible light associated with a heat within the display; receiving, by an absorption layer of the display, the visible light within the display, the absorption layer coupled to a display cover of the display; absorbing, by the absorption layer, a portion of the visible light comprising a light leakage from the display; absorbing, by the absorption layer, a portion of the heat within the display; and transferring, by the absorption layer, the portion of the heat into the display cover.

A display device includes a display module having a folding area and a non-folding area adjacent to the folding area. A glass substrate is disposed on the display module and comprises a first layer and a second layer disposed on the first layer. The second layer has a compressive strength that is higher than a compressive strength of the first layer. The first layer and the second layer of the glass substrate each include a folding portion overlapping the folding area and having a first thickness and a non-folding portion overlapping the non-folding area and having a second thickness greater than the first thickness. The second layer of the non-folding portion has a thickness that is greater than a thickness of the second layer of the folding portion.

DRIVING CIRCUIT AND DISPLAY DEVICE

A driving circuit and a display device are provided. The driving circuit includes a level conversion chip, a scan line, a data line, a power line, a first transistor, a second transistor, and a light emitting unit. A protection unit is disposed between the level conversion chip and an intersection of the scan line and the power line, and the protection unit is configured to reduce current between the level conversion chip and the power line when the scan line and the power line are short-circuited. In the embodiment of the present disclosure, when the scan line and the power line are short-circuited, the protection unit reduces the current between the power line and the level conversion chip to prevent excessive current between the level conversion chip and the power line, and prevent the level conversion chip from heating and burning.

A display device includes a display panel and a display panel driver. The display panel includes pixels. The display panel driver determines an average image load of input image data, determines an operation mode based on a grayscale value of the input image data and the average image load as a first operation mode or a second operation mode, applies a first scale factor to the input image data in the first operation mode, applies a second scale factor different from the first scale factor to the input image data in the second operation mode, and drives the display panel.

Electronic Devices with Displays and Interposer Structures

An electronic device may have a display. The display may include an array of pixels formed on a silicon substrate. Display driver circuitry may be formed in a display driver integrated circuit that outputs display data and other control signals for operating the display. An interposer structure may be included in the electronic device. The interposer structure may be attached to the silicon display substrate and may only partially overlap the silicon display substrate. The display driver integrated circuit may be attached to the interposer structure and provide signals to the display pixels through the interposer structure. In another possible arrangement, the display driver integrated circuit may bridge a gap between the silicon display substrate and the flexible printed circuit. The display driver integrated circuit only partially overlaps the silicon display substrate in this arrangement.
