In a display element such as an organic EL element, deterioration progresses due to light emission, and emission luminance is lowered even if the same voltage is applied to the display element. Therefore, use over time causes variations in luminance of each pixel, thereby a so-called “image burn-in” phenomenon occurs. Given this factor, the invention provides a display device which can reduce the difference in deterioration of a display element in each pixel and suppress variations in light emission of a display element in a pixel. It is prevented that only a specific pixel has a long accumulated lighting time. For that purpose, a gray scale of a display pattern is changed to prevent the difference in deterioration of display element in pixels from increasing. Alternatively, a specific display pattern is prevented from being fixedly displayed in a specific region. Further alternatively, a pixel lagging behind in deterioration is deteriorated so that the accumulated lighting time of pixels is equal to each other.

USER INTERFACE FOR A FLASHLIGHT MODE ON AN ELECTRONIC DEVICE
An electronic device having a touch-screen display detects a first input on the display while displaying a first user interface on the display. In response to detecting the first input on the display, the device enters a flashlight mode. Entering the flashlight mode includes replacing the first user interface with a first flashlight user interface. The first flashlight user interface has a first total lumen output and a first luminance that is substantially uniform over the display. The device determines whether brightness change criteria are met, and in accordance with a determination that the brightness change criteria are met, displays a second flashlight user interface having a second total lumen output greater than the first total lumen output and a second luminance that is substantially uniform over the display.

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a display panel including a plurality of pixels, a first processor configured to execute an application, a first display driving integrated circuit including a second processor and a graphics memory, and a second display driving integrated circuit including a source driver configured to control at least some of the plurality of pixels. The second processor is configured to, when the first processor is in an inactive state with respect to the first display driving integrated circuit, compose or post-process another image to be displayed through the display panel based at least on at least one image stored in the graphics memory, by using the first display driving integrated circuit, and transmit the other image to the second display driving integrated circuit such that the other image is displayed through the display panel.
