An auxiliary device coupled to a stringed instrument for producing chords is disclosed. The auxiliary device comprises a housing. The housing comprises a plurality of buttons and a plurality of actuators coupled to the plurality of buttons. Further, the auxiliary device comprises a rim coupled to the housing. In order to couple the auxiliary device to the stringed instrument, a neck of the stringed instrument is placed between the housing and the rim, such that the plurality of actuators are made to come in contact with stings of the stringed instrument. The plurality of buttons is pressed to operate the plurality of actuators. When operated, the plurality of actuators is made to depress to strum the strings to produce a chord.

In the depressed position, the button is in contact with one of the strings and depresses the one of the strings against a proximate fret. In the raised position, the button is out of contact with the one of the strings.

Each lever has a lower surface adapted to contact a string of the guitar in response to a depressing of an associated button.

A fingering assembly positionable over strings of a guitar is formed of a housing with buttons and a plate. Each button has an upper end adapted to be contacted and depressed by a user. Each button has a lower end. The plate has a plurality of levers. Each lever has an upper surface adapted to be contacted and depressed by a lower end of one of the buttons. Each lever has a lower surface adapted to contact a string of the guitar in response to a depressing of an associated button.

A musical instrument with an improved interface for playing the instrument is provided. The musical instrument may be configured with a musical scale and a key. An input interface of the musical instrument may be configured based on the scale and key to allow a player of the instrument to easily play multiple collections of notes, or chords, in a simplified manner. For example, the improved interface allows a user to play a number of chords or other collection of notes without having to depress or engage a number of sound actuators at different locations along instrument.

A method and device for facilitating learning of musical scales on string instruments are provided. The device comprises a visual scheme consisting of blocks to be positioned just below notes of a scale when fixed on an instrument, each block being formed by the overlap of two rectangles in distinct sizes, which serve as space for accommodation of different didactic information; a manual providing information for the understanding and proper use of the visual scheme; and a musical background providing tracks that sound in the same frequency or tonality of the visual scheme. The device can further include a complementary visual scheme useful in practicing scales in different tonalities.
