A pitch changer system for a string musical instrument, including a lever assembly, a rotating saddle assembly, a swing plate, and a lever tensioning assembly. Applying force to move the lever in a first direction forces a bell crank matingly coupled to the lever into rotation such that a coupling system of the lever tensioning assembly causes the swing plate to force a rotating saddle of the rotating saddle assembly into rotation to elongate and thereby temporarily change the pitch of a string coupled to the rotating saddle.

Disclosed are apparatus and related methods for adjusting the pitch of a string on a stringed instrument. In one embodiment, the disclosed devices enable a musician to adjust the tautness and, accordingly, the pitch of individual strings of a stringed instrument by simply pushing a lever or rotating a threaded piston or on or adjacent to the bridge of the guitar. The disclosed devices can preferably be outfitted on electric or acoustic stringed instruments, including guitars. The more specific aspects of the preferred embodiments are discussed in greater detail with reference to the figures.

APPARATUS FOR LENGTHENING THE VIBRATING LENGTH OF STRINGS ON A HARP

Apparatus (32) for lengthening the vibrating length of strings (34) on a harp, which apparatus (32) comprises: (i) securing means (42) for securing one end of the strings (34); (ii) adjuster members (46) for increasing the length of the strings (34) in order to increase the tension in the strings and thereby alter the frequency of vibration of the strings (34); and (iii) mounting means (48) for mounting the apparatus (32) on the harp (36) and wherein: (iv) there is one of the adjuster members (46) for each one of the strings (34); and (v) the adjuster members (46) are pivotable adjuster members (46) which are pivotable between a string non-lengthening position and a string lengthening position.

VIBRATO DEVICE FOR GUITAR
20190244590 · 2019-08-08 ·

An improved Bigsby vibrato device for a guitar. The improved device includes a mechanical stop which ensures that the device returns to its original neutral position after being used, thereby preventing mistuning of the guitar. The mechanical stop may be a hard stop which prevents the device from increasing tension on the guitar strings (thereby raising the pitch) beyond the neutral position, or it may be a spring stop which allows the user to increase the tension on the strings beyond the neutral position by pulling upward on the device arm with a force sufficient to overcome the spring stop.

A musical instrument pitch changing apparatus for a musical instrument having at least a first and second string is disclosed. The apparatus includes a bender lever pivotally secured to the musical instrument, a rocker arm pivotally secured to the instrument for varying the tension in the first string in response to movement of the bender lever between the first and second positions. A rocker arm mount secures the rocker arm to the first selected string in a first bending configuration or to the second selected string in a second bending configuration. The rocker arm is movable between the first selected string and the second selected string of the musical instrument.
