Composite reed
Disclosed is a composite reed (55) for a wind instrument and to a method for producing such a reed. The reed has a matrix made of a polymer material and a plurality of reinforcing fibres made of another polymer material, embedded inside the matrix. The other polymer material is a thermoplastic polymer material.
INTEGRATED REED PROTECTION AND STORAGE METHODS AND SYSTEMS
An integrated reed protection and storage system is provided. The system includes a controlled solution container. The system also includes a sponge material positionable within the container. Further, the system includes at least one reed holder positionable around the sponge material. Additionally, the system includes at least one reed, the at least one reed positionable on the at least one reed holder. The at least one reed is configured to contact a surface of the sponge material.
Apparatus for enhancing sounds produced out of single-reed wind music instruments
Apparatus for enhancing tunes produced out of single-reed wind music instrument are disclosed. Apparatus comprise one or more sound enhancing elements in form of a plurality of elongated ribs or grooves, or one or more studs. The sound enhancing elements are affixed to either side or both sides of a reed. Patterns of the elongated ribs/grooves can be straight or wavy lines orientated in longitudinal, transverse or oblique direction with respect to the reed. Each stud contains a 3-D geometric shape portion for altering sounds produced out of a single-reed wind music instrument when played by a player, and a base of the 3-D geometric shape portion for affixing the stud to either side or both sides of a reed in an effective area. Dimensions/locations of the effective area are single-reed wind music instrument dependent.
Rotatable mouthpiece for a woodwind instrument
A mouthpiece configuration for a wind instrument (such as a saxophone) is provided that is rotatable with respect to the neck, while remaining stationary with respect to the musician. The inventive mouthpiece comprises an inner sleeve component that is inserted over the neck of the instrument, where the inner sleeve component is formed to include a rotatable outer surface element (e.g., slip ring, ball bearings, etc.), referred to as a bearing surface that provides rotational movement. A mouthpiece element is positioned over the inner sleeve component to engage with the rotatable outer surface element such that a player may easily rotate the mouthpiece element with respect to the remainder of the instrument.
LIGATURE FOR ATTACHING A SINGLE VIBRATING REED TO A MOUTHPIECE OF A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
The invention concerns a ligature (1) for attaching a single flapping reed (3) to a mouthpiece (2) of a musical instrument, comprising a main body secured to said mouthpiece and: a holding member of the reed (3), movably mounted between a stress position in which it exerts on the reed (3) an immobilization stress of the reed (3) and at least one release position in which it releases said stress in order to authorize a displacement of the reed (3), a control lever pivotally mounted between a rest position in which it cooperates with the holding member so that said holding member occupies the stress position thereof and at least one actuated position in which it stresses the holding member in the release position thereof, and an elastic return member. Wind musical instruments.
Reed
A reed includes: a reed main body having a plate shape, the reed main body including a fixed part fixed to a mouthpiece, and a vibrating part that extends from the fixed part and vibrates; and a sensor part that is disposed inside the vibrating part or on an inner surface of the vibrating part, the inner surface of the vibrating part facing the mouthpiece, the sensor part comprising an effective sensor portion that detects vibration of the vibrating part.
REED, MOUTHPIECE AND BLOWING PART
In an embodiment, the reed 10 includes a base part 150 and a vamp 153. The base part 150 has a planar portion 151 and a heel 157 at a first end of the base part 150. The vamp 153 extends from a second end of the base part 150, opposite the heel 157. The vamp 153 includes a sloping shape ending in a tip 100 which is inclined relative to the planar portion 151 when the vamp 153 is viewed from the planar portion 151.

HUMIDITY CONTROLLED MUSICAL INSTRUMENT REED CAP
A woodwind reed storage and maintenance device conveniently fits directly onto the reed bearing end of a musical instrument. The storage and maintenance device includes a reed storage space, humidity control device space, and a humidity gauge. The storage and maintenance device is used to maintain a reed while still located on the musical instrument at a specifically-chosen constant humidity level for optimal performing condition and maximum reed life. The storage and maintenance device protects the reed from physical damage and from damage due to changing humidity levels in the ambient surroundings. The storage and maintenance device accurately measures and displays temperature and humidity information corresponding to the reed storage space inside the device.
WOODWIND INSTRUMENT REED AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING WOODWIND INSTRUMENT REED
A woodwind instrument reed is strip-shaped and has a vamp on one side in a longitudinal direction. The reed includes a resin matrix containing a liquid crystal polymer as a principal component, and a layered mineral dispersed in the resin matrix. A method for producing a woodwind instrument reed that is strip-shaped and has a vamp on one side in a longitudinal direction includes charging a composition for forming the reed into a cavity of a mold from a longitudinal end on a side opposite to the vamp to be formed. The composition contains a liquid crystal polymer as a principal component, and a layered mineral.
