A drumstick is provided. The drumstick comprises a shaft. A plurality of sound initiating elements are disposed along the shaft. The sound initiating elements are adapted for initiating generation of sound associated with simultaneously activating a plurality of percussion surfaces of a percussion music instrument.

The present disclosure is directed to a musical instrument comprising a plurality of chimes, each of which has a fork portion comprising first and second prongs, or tines, and a resonator portion. Each chime is configured to produce a note of a predetermined pitch and frequency when one of the tines is struck by a mallet. The instrument may also be configured so that the note produced by striking one of the tines with a mallet has a desirable sustain. Embodiments of the musical instrument may be configured for installation in an outdoor environment, such as a playground or other recreational area, and thus to withstand the stresses associated with such an installation.

Multi tonal cymbals are provided having a metallic structure, the structure having a plurality of radial cuts therein defining a plurality of segments, each of the plurality of segments providing a tone different than another of the plurality of segments. The different tone may be achieved with radial cuts having different dimensions and/or placed on different locations on the cymbal to create different shaped/sized segments.

A foldable idiophone musical instrument may have two frames to support accidental tone bars on the first frame and natural tone bars on the second frame. Connecting members may attach to opposite ends of the frames. The connecting members may allow the frames to rotate from 0° to 180° from a horizontal position to collapse or fold the instrument. The connecting members may have a riser portion and a stop block portion. The riser portion may elevate the accidental tone bars above the natural tone bars. The stop block portion may prevent the frames from rotating to less than 0° from the horizontal when in a performance position.

A foldable idiophone musical instrument may have two frames to support accidental tone bars on the first frame and natural tone bars on the second frame. Connecting members may attach to opposite ends of the frames. The connecting members may allow the frames to rotate from 0° to 180° from a horizontal position to collapse or fold the instrument. The connecting members may have a riser portion and a stop block portion. The riser portion may elevate the accidental tone bars above the natural tone bars. The stop block portion may prevent the frames from rotating to less than 0° from the horizontal when in a performance position.
