Drum pedal for striking a drum, the pedal comprising: a support having at least one leg; a rotary shaft borne by said support; a beater mounted on said rotary shaft and configured to rotate upon rotation of said rotary shaft, wherein the beater is configured to strike the drum; an actuation mechanism for rotating the beater in a first direction towards the drum; a return mechanism for rotating the beater in a second direction opposite the first direction away from the drum.

Pneumatic return for foot pedals associated with percussion instruments

This improvement to a pneumatic return mechanism for percussion foot pedals incorporates a flat or bowl-shaped diaphragm rather than a rolling diaphragm, and a piston which is spherical rather than cylindrical, producing a bouncy feel for the player. A further improvement to the track hub of a percussion foot pedal enables bump fasteners to be removably inserted, to add lift and alter beater acceleration. A further improvement is a removable stiffener which prevents slack in the connector between the footboard and track hub of the percussion foot pedal, which may occur during fast drumming.

A pedal device for performance (1) has a pedal (4) where a player can perform a depressing operation with his/her foot. A rod (6) is movable in an axial direction in accordance with the depressing operation of the pedal (4). A detecting mechanism detects an amount of movement of the rod (6) and outputs a detection signal corresponding to the amount of movement. The detecting mechanism has an optical sensor (10) that is a non-contact sensor detecting an amount of displacement in the axial direction L of the rod (6) in a non-contact manner.

Bass drum pad and drum kit

A bass pad includes a frame body, a pad body, and a leg-opening mechanism. The frame body includes a pad base and a main post. The pad base is fixed to a clamp of a pedal device. The main post is arranged integrally with the pad base. The leg-opening mechanism includes two legs, two stays, and a sliding member. The height and angle of the pad base are adjusted by moving the sliding member in an axial direction of the main post to open or close the legs and the stays with respect to the main post.

A portable drum kit system is configured to be converted from a transport configuration to a drumming configuration. The drum kit system includes a cajon with a plurality of other drum components and a convertible storage container that converts to a seat when in a drumming configuration. The portable drum kit system is easy to transport in one trip, as all the components are coupled to, configured in or on, the convertible storage container that has a set of wheels and a handle. The portable drum kit eliminates the need for expensive and bulky drum covers, cymbal cases typically required for transportation of these components. The drum kit may include a snare drum, tom tom, hi-hat, cymbal and a tambourine. The cajon may be configured to produce only bass frequencies and may include high and mid tone sound absorbing material within the cajon.
