An extended play drumstick with enhanced durability of the rimshot area. The extended play drumstick includes a durable surrounding pad attached along and around the rimshot portion of the drumstick, and features an optional durable coating applied to the surface of the drumstick shaft, applied from at least the distal end of the durable surrounding pad up to and including at least the shoulder portion. The extended play drumstick resists rimshot damage caused by the drumstick striking the rim of a drum. The rimshot area of the drumstick is protected with a durable surrounding pad made of high strength material such as a para-aramid synthetic fiber, e.g., Kevlar® fiber from Dupont®. The extended play drumstick prevents chipping, fraying, and splintering of the shaft of the drumstick. Due to the light weight of the durable surrounding pad, and the durable coating, the balance and feel of a traditional drumstick are preserved.

A universal drumstick for use by a drummer, the drummer having a hand with a thumb, an index finger, a middle finger, a ring finger, and a pinkie finger, comprising, a distal tip, a shaft proximal to the distal tip, a handle proximal to the shaft, the handle having a grip therethrough, the grip sized to allow the drummer's little finger and ring finger to extend therethrough, the shaft angled relative to the handle such that at least a portion of the shaft is above the drummer's middle and index fingers when the drummer's pinkie and ring fingers are within the grip, whereby the drummer can play a stick-drum with the universal drumstick and also play a hand-drum without removing the universal drumstick from the drummer's hand.

A percussion device includes a drumstick assembly. The drumstick assembly includes a drumstick having a base and a tip end, and a drumstick tip secured to the tip end of the drumstick, the drumstick tip including a sensor. The drumstick including the base thereof, and includes at least one control button, a communication element, and a processor in communication with the at least one control button, the drumstick tip and the communication element. The processor is configured to receive a signal from the drumstick tip and to generate output to the communication element. The output so generated includes a signal that specifies a sound file selected by operation of the at least one control button.

A percussion device includes a drumstick assembly. The drumstick assembly includes a drumstick having a base and a tip end, and a drumstick tip secured to the tip end of the drumstick, the drumstick tip including a sensor. The drumstick including the base thereof, and includes at least one control button, a communication element, and a processor in communication with the at least one control button, the drumstick tip and the communication element. The processor is configured to receive a signal from the drumstick tip and to generate output to the communication element. The output so generated includes a signal that specifies a sound file selected by operation of the at least one control button.

A drum brush comprising a tube with slot, a plurality of wire bristles, a rod and O-ring, where the said bristles are at least partially within said tube in which portions of bristles extend outwardly from one end of tube, the end of casing from which the bristles extend is partially flattened to hold the bristles in position. The tube has a slot, its relative position is perpendicular and near to the end from which the bristles extend.
