Tonal musical instruments for outdoor installation
Tonal musical instruments configured for outdoor installation are disclosed. The tonal musical instrument may comprise a support post, wherein the support post is configured for attachment to an outdoor surface, at least one a non-vibrating guard, a metal plate tuned to produce at least one note on a musical scale when struck by a user, and one or more fasteners securing the at least one non-vibrating guard and the metal plate to the support post.
CONTROLLED DENSITY-GRADIENT TIMPANI PERCUSSION MALLETS
A timpani percussion mallet for use with a timpani musical instrument by a timpani player, the mallet comprising: a shaft having a first end that is for a timpani player to hold, and also having an opposite second end that is for the timpani player striking a part of the timpani musical instrument, wherein the shaft comprises at least one tube with outer walls, wherein the tube contains within the outer walls a plurality of segments including a first segment comprising a first solid segment material and a second solid segment comprising a second segment material different from the first solid segment material, and optional additional segments with optional additional solid segment materials, wherein the first and second segments are each non-movable within the tube, wherein the first segment is located closer to the first end, and the second segment is located closer to the second end, wherein the first segment and the second segment have different densities to provide the timpani percussion mallet and shaft with a controlled density gradient to control center of mass, moment of inertia, and/or vibration mitigation for the timpani percussion mallet. A palette of mallets and sounds are provided for the elite player.
Drum beater
A drum beater including a hollow housing and loose fill material to generate a rattle sound upon striking a drum is disclosed herein. A user can customize the sound and loudness of the generated rattle or sound by changing the size, shape, quantity, materials, or combinations thereof of the hollow housing. The user can further customize the sound and loudness that they wish to create by also changing the size, shape, material, amounts or combinations thereof of the loose fill material. The drum beater also includes a rod to mount the drum beater to a drum foot pedal to control the drum beater while playing the drums. Optionally, the drum beater includes a pad mounted thereon, which changes the way the rattle sounds. The user, such as a musician, is free to express their creativity by how much can be varied in order to generate different sounds and rattles.
Wearable Drumstick Holder Providing Tear-Away Retrieval and Integrated Practice Pad
Provided is a wearable drumstick holding apparatus with an integrated practice pad that may wrap around and attach to a user's leg or thigh, and that may provide tear-away rapid retrieval of drumsticks. The apparatus may include an elastic base and connectors on either side of the base. The apparatus may include a pocket about a distal end of the base. The pocket imposes a force about a first segment of an object inserted into the pocket. The apparatus may include a tear-away retainer about a proximate end of the base. The tear-away retainer may be permanently attached to the base on a first side, and may attach and detach from the base about an opposite second side. The tear-away retainer retains the object about a different second segment of the object, and releases the object by detaching the second side in response to a pull force.
Magnetic Resistance System for Use with Drum Sets
A magnetic resistance system for use with drum sets that allows for various levels of magnetic repulsion between a drum beater and a batter head. A drum beater having a beater magnet is used in conjunction with an impact pad having an impact magnet. The drum beater is attached to a drum pedal, while the impact pad is integrated with the batter head of the drum, either directly or through a suspension bracket. The beater magnet and the impact magnet are oriented to repel each other as the drum beater is driven towards the batter head, thus creating an additional bounce back of the drum beater from the batter head of the drum. One or more subsequent impact pads may be interchanged or stacked with the impact pad in order to further increase the bounce back of the drum beater from the batter head.
Beat Recording Pen
A beat recording pen for the recording and editing music and while serving as writing instrument. The device includes a retractable writing instrument disposed in an elongated shaft designed to house a power supply designed to provide electrical power to a transceiver that can transmit and receive digital signals to and from a connected mobile device or computer. The beat recording pen further includes an impact sensor that can detect an audio input signal of an impact event and convert the audio input signal into a digital signal. A micro-controller is disposed within the pen and can record the converted audio input signals detected by the impact sensor and interface with a software application installed on a connected mobile device or computer.
