VARIABLE PITCH IDIOPHONE AND METHOD OF PLAYING SAME
A first vessel provided in spaced nested relation to and at least partially around a second vessel or member, the first vessel having a bottom section coupled to a sidewall to form a liquid receiving receptacle open at an upper end of the sidewall. Further provided is liquid in the liquid receiving receptacle. The second vessel or member is moveable relative to the first vessel to displace and/or replace the liquid in the first vessel such that the first vessel can produce different pitches and/or tones as or after the liquid is displaced and/or replaced and the first vessel is struck, rubbed or otherwise vibrated.
RESONATOR ACCESSORIES FOR MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
Accessories to improve the tonal qualities of a guitar or other stringed instruments include a bridge sound plate, a bridge support, a stress tube, and one or more bridge pin bolts. A bridge pin bolt may include a head, a shank, a thread, and a nut, the head of the bridge pin bolt having a void therethrough extending from a front of the head to a back of the head to receive a guitar string therethrough, the void extending upwardly from the front of the head to the back of the head. One or more of the accessories may be formed of brass or another material with good tonal properties. A sound plate may be adjustable or tunable. The accessories may be used independently, or may be used together as a system of accessories.
DRUM PATCH AND HITTING SURFACE PROTECTION METHOD
A drum patch formed into a sheet shape is adhered to a hitting surface of a drum. Since a first slit and a second slit extending toward a hit region are formed at the outer edge of the drum patch, relatively flexible deformation is possible at the outer edge portion. Accordingly, the slits can absorb deformation in which the outer edge portion of the drum patch rises from the hitting surface when hitting the hit region. Thus, peeling of the drum patch from the hitting surface can be suppressed.
Cymbal sizzle sound enhancer and method
A sizzle enhancer device is provided for complimentary use with a cymbal instrument to modify the sound the cymbal produces. The device reversibly fastens to the stand post above the cymbal element and includes an adjustable sizzle element which contacts and vibrates with the cymbal element to product a sizzle sound upon impact of the cymbal element with an object.
Percussion sound attenuation system
The invention is a sound-attenuating system operative to attach to a surface of a metallic percussion instrument, and attenuate sound produced by striking the sound-attenuating system with a drum stick.
PERCUSSION INSTRUMENT AND MUSICAL SOUND GENERATION METHOD
A light sensor 19 is provided for detecting a position of a lever 14 (an intermediate position between an initial position and a terminal position of the lever 14) between an ON state and an OFF state of the lever 14, and a musical sound in accordance with the position of the lever 14 detected by the light sensor 19 is generated. That is, in each of the ON state of the lever 14, the OFF state of the lever 14, and the state where the lever 14 is therebetween, different musical sounds are generated when the head 6 is percussed. Therefore, compared with the conventional technique where musical sounds can only be generated based on the ON or OFF state of the lever 14, musical sounds of a greater variety can be generated.
REMOVABLE ELECTRONIC DRUM HEAD AND/OR DEADENING PAD
Particular embodiments described herein provide for a drum that includes a drum head, a removable electronic drum head under the drum head, a deadening pad under the removable electronic drum head, and a drum head release mechanism. The drum head release mechanism can be activated to help remove the drum head, the removable electronic drum head, and the deadening pad from the drum and then can be reactivated to secure the drum head to the drum without the removable electronic drum head, and the deadening pad.
