A GRAPHICAL INTERFACE FOR SELECTING A MUSICAL DRUM KIT ON AN ELECTRONIC DRUM MODULE
An electronic-drum module for connection to one or more electronic-drum pads is provided. The module includes an electronic display, a memory storing audio files for playback when the playback is triggered by a signal received from a pad, and one or more processors coupled to the electronic display and the memory. The processors are configured to play the audio files when the playback is triggered and display, on the display, a user interface for an application. The user interface for the application includes a list of available trigger sources. The processors are also configured to receive an instruction to select an available trigger source and display, on the display, a list of available drum kits to associate with the available trigger source. The processors are also configured to display images of the available drum kits in response to receiving an instruction to select an available drum kit.
Systems and methods for providing contactless sensing of percussion instruments
Trigger devices, systems, and methods for sensing a strike on a vibratory membrane. A trigger device includes an optical sensor positioned a distance from the vibratory membrane and a processing device. The optical sensor includes an emitter that emits modulated light towards the vibratory membrane and a receiver that receives the modulated light that has reflected off the vibratory membrane and generates an electrical signal corresponding to the received modulated light. The electrical signal includes a peak corresponding to a detected strike on the vibratory membrane. The processing device isolates the peak from the electrical signal and generates one or more of a signal and data corresponding to the electrical signal.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING MUSICAL TEMPO GRIDLINES ON AN ELECTRONIC DRUM MODULE DISPLAY
An electronic-drum module for connection to one or more electronic-drum pads is provided. The module includes an electronic display, a memory storing audio files for playback when the playback is triggered by a signal received from a pad, and one or more processors coupled to the electronic display and the memory. The processors are configured to play a portion of the audio files when the playback is triggered by the signal received from the one or more electronic-drum pads. The processors are also configured to display, on the display, a user interface for an application, which includes a waveform associated with recorded audio. The processors are also configured to display, on the display, tempo gridlines with a tempo-gridline spacing over the waveform. The module includes a control for adjusting the tempo-gridline spacing. The control is a wheel and is actuated by a rotation of the wheel.
MAGNETICALLY SECURED INSTRUMENT TRIGGER AND INSTRUMENT TRIGGER MOUNTING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An apparatus, system, and method for a magnetically and releasably attachable trigger for an instrument is provided. Additionally, the trigger provides for an increased sensitivity of sound by being in direct physical contact with the surface on which it is attached.
Electronic cymbal instruments and systems
This disclosure relates generally to electronic musical instruments, systems, and methods. More particularly, this disclosure relates to electronic percussion instruments such as tom toms, snare drums, bass drums, cymbals, and hi-hats, and assemblies of instruments (e.g., percussion instruments), such as drum sets. Even more particularly, this disclosure relates to wireless electronic percussion instruments, and percussion instruments with interchangeable and/or removable components to change the instrument between a traditional percussion instrument (that relies on resonance and/or vibration to produce sound) and an electronic percussion instrument. The present disclosure also relates to electronic cymbal instruments, such as cymbal assemblies and hi-hat assemblies, that can be used in conjunction with a traditional acoustic metal cymbal.
Signal output device
A signal output device comprising a housing, a fastener that attaches the housing to an object that includes a portion to be struck, an arm section attached to the housing, an extension section extending from the arm section and configured to contact the portion to be struck, a first sensor that detects vibration transmitted to the arm section and outputs a vibration signal representing the vibration, a second sensor provided on the housing and that detects vibration transmitted to the housing, and an output terminal that outputs the vibration detected by at least one of the first sensor or the second sensor.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING A GRAPHICAL REPRESENTATION OF A STRIKE VELOCITY OF AN ELECTRONIC DRUM PAD
A method of displaying drum-strike velocity information is provided. The method includes receiving trigger data. The trigger data includes a strike velocity of a drum-pad zone on a drum pad. The method includes displaying an image of a drum associated with the drum pad on a display, displaying a first portion of the drum in a first color, and changing the first portion of the drum to a second color. The second color is determined by a magnitude of the strike velocity.
Electronic drum pad
An electronic drum pad includes a drum shell; a mesh head stretched at the upper opening of the drum shell; a hard-resin sheet disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the mesh head and having a ring shape with an opening made at a center thereof; a cloth disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the hard-resin sheet; a strike absorbing member disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the cloth and formed by overlaying a plurality of sheets; and a tray disposed adjacent to the rear surface of the strike absorbing member and fitted into the lower opening of the drum shell.
WIRING STRUCTURE OF ELECTRONIC DRUM
The present disclosure discloses a wiring structure of an electronic drum, includes an electronic drum support assembly. The electronic drum support assembly includes a disposed first electronic drum support frame, a second electronic drum support frame disposed on a side of the first electronic drum support frame, a third electronic drum support frame disposed on an outer side of the first electronic drum support frame, a fourth electronic drum support frame disposed on an outer side of the second electronic drum support frame, a first transverse drum frame disposed at a top end of the third electronic drum support frame, a second transverse drum frame disposed at a top end of the fourth electronic drum support frame, a cymbal disposed at a position of the first transverse drum frame, and a snare drum disposed at a position of the second transverse drum frame; and a wiring assembly of an electronic drum.
Drumhead with printed layer for initiating ferrous response and method of making
A drumhead includes a membrane with ferrous responsive material printed onto a surface or otherwise incorporated into it. The ferrous responsive material is detectable by an electromagnetic sensor such that striking the membrane causes vibration that is detected by the sensor, which may initiate an acoustic sound via a sound module. The drumhead may thus be used in an electronic drumming system without requiring fixation of a foreign object to a surface of the membrane.
