Systems and methods for calibrating a musical device
11328618 · 2022-05-10 · ·

The present disclosure relates to a method and system for calibrating a musical device. In some embodiments, a method for calibrating a musical device includes: energizing an actuator to actuate a key using a force corresponding to a first intensity level; obtaining, from a sensor, a first sensor signal representing motion information of the key corresponding to application of the force; and calibrating the musical device based on the first sensor signal.

Computing Device

A method can include receiving vibration signals responsive to an object forcibly contacting a location on a back surface of a display housing of a computing device; and, responsive to receipt of the vibration signals, performing at least one action via circuitry of the computing device, where the at least one action includes a user perceivable action.

DEVICE, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING AUXILIARY INFORMATION TO DISPLAYED MUSICAL NOTATIONS

A method and system for indicating musical notations for at least one user to execute, including: presenting the at least one user with musical notations on a presentation device, the musical notation to be executed through the user; receiving an audio signal relating to an instrument played and/or vocal output generated by the at least one user; analyzing the received audio signal to obtain an analysis output; and selecting a section of the musical notation, wherein the section contains a musical note coinciding with the received audio signal and which is descriptive of a temporal interval having a longer duration than the coinciding note played through the user.

MUSICAL INSTRUMENT TUNER, MUSICAL PERFORMANCE SUPPORT DEVICE AND MUSICAL INSTRUMENT MANAGEMENT DEVICE

The musical instrument tuner includes: a sensor device that is attached to a musical instrument; and an operation device that is able to perform wireless communication mutually with the sensor device, in which the sensor device includes an acceleration sensor that has at least two detection axes, frequency detection means for detecting, as a detected frequency, a frequency of a vibration of musical sound generated through an operation of the musical instrument based on an output from the acceleration sensor, and sensor-side communication means for transmitting transmission information including information regarding the detected frequency to the operation device, and the operation device includes operation-side communication means for receiving the transmission information transmitted from the sensor device, display means, and control means for generating tuning information of the musical instrument and causing the display means to display the tuning information based on the transmission information received from the sensor device.

PLAYBACK, RECORDING, AND ANALYSIS OF MUSIC SCALES VIA SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION

Playback, recording, and analysis of music scales via software configuration. In an embodiment, a graphical user interface is generated with staff and keyboard canvases, visually representing a music staff and keyboard, respectively, a scale input, parameter input(s), and a play input. In response to selection of a scale, the staff canvas is updated to visually represent the notes in the scale. In response to the selection of a musical parameter, the staff canvas and/or keyboard canvas are updated to reflect the musical parameter. In response to selection of the play input, a soundtrack of the scale is output, while simultaneously highlighting the note, being played, on the staff canvas and the key, associated with the note being played, on the keyboard canvas.

An instructional method of an electronic keyboard includes: obtaining a playing script, wherein the playing script is generated by a first terminal or a cloud server according to a first signal generated by a recording electronic keyboard and a time point of receiving the first signal, and the playing script is configured to indicate a corresponding relationship between to-be-pressed first keys and time points of pressing the to-be-pressed first keys; and controlling indicator lights on the first keys of the instructional electronic keyboard to be turned on or off according to the playing script. In this way, a user can be prompted to press the keys through the indicator lights on the electronic keyboard, which aids the user in learning how to play the electronic keyboard.

Modifying an array of cells in a cell matrix for a step-sequencer
11169650 · 2021-11-09 · ·

A method of operating a UI for controlling a virtual musical instrument can include receiving a first input corresponding to a selection of an array of cells within a cell matrix, each array of the cell matrix assigned to audio sample data stored in a computer-readable medium that, when triggered, causes the audio sample data to output corresponding audio, and each cell within its particular array of the cell matrix, in response to being selected for playback and upon being triggered to begin playback, causes the audio sample data corresponding to the cell's particular array to be played. The method can further include receiving a second input corresponding to a changing of a number of cells within the particular selected array; and changing the number of cells within the selected array based on the second input and maintaining a number of cells in other arrays within the cell matrix.

System for teaching music notation and associated method of use
11756447 · 2023-09-12 ·

A system and method for teaching music notation through the use of animated characters and movable objects displayed on a visual display and enhanced with audible sounds representative of the movable objects. Non-movable objects are additionally provided to provide travel paths, or maps, for the movable objects on the visual display. The unique use of movable objects and audible sounds is shown to improve the learning outcome of users of the system.

Virtual tutorials for musical instruments with finger tracking in augmented reality

Systems, devices, media, and methods are described for presenting a tutorial in augmented reality on the display of a smart eyewear device. The system includes a marker registration utility for setting a marker on a musical instrument, a localization utility for locating the eyewear device relative to the marker location and the instrument, a virtual object rendering utility for presenting a series of virtual tutorial objects on the display near one or more actuators on the instrument, and a hand tracking utility for tracking the performer's finger locations in real time during playback of a song file. A high-definition video camera captures sequences of frames of video data. The series of virtual tutorial objects, in one example, includes graphical elements presented on a virtual scroll that appears to move toward the instrument at a speed correlated with the song tempo. The hand tracking utility calculates a set of expected fingertip coordinates based on a detected hand shape and a library of hand poses and landmarks.
