Systems and methods for providing audio-file loop-playback functionality
Systems and methods for providing audio-file loop-playback functionality are provided. The system includes a processor that performs a method including setting a playback loop start-point based on a first selection of a button; setting a loop end-point, associating a loop with an audio file, and entering into the loop based on a second selection of the button; and exiting the loop based on a third selection of the button. Associating the loop with the audio file includes adding metadata to the audio file. The metadata associates the loop with a button. The method includes reentering the loop based on a fourth selection of the button and exiting the loop based on a fifth selection of the button.
GENERATING AND MIXING AUDIO ARRANGEMENTS
A request for an audio arrangement having one or more target audio arrangement characteristics is received. One or more target audio attributes are identified based on the one or more target audio arrangement characteristics. First audio data is selected. The first audio data has a first set of audio attributes, which comprises at least some of the identified one or more target audio attributes. Second audio data is selected. The second audio data has a second set of audio attributes, which comprises at least some of the identified one or more target audio attributes. One or more mixed audio arrangements are output and/or data useable to generate the one or more mixed audio arrangements is output. The one or more mixed audio arrangements are generated by at least the selected first and second audio data being mixed using an automated audio mixing procedure.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTING THE VISUAL APPEARANCE OF DJ MEDIA PLAYER CONTROLS USING AN INTERFACE
A DJ media player is provided. The DJ media player includes a display to show audio playback information, a patter used to control audio playback, a light emitting element for displaying different colors, and an interface located on the media player for selecting different colors for the light emitting element. The interface is a graphical user interface on the display. The display is a touchscreen display and one or more colors are selected by making contact with the touchscreen display. The light emitting element is in a platter housing.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR GENERATING A VISUAL COLOR DISPLAY OF AUDIO-FILE DATA
Systems and methods for generating a visual color display of audio-file data are provided. The system includes a processor that performs a method including receiving audio-file data; generating filtered-audio data by processing the audio-file data by frequency-band filters. The frequency band filters have different frequency bands. The method includes generating one or more waveforms corresponding to the filtered-audio data and displaying the waveforms superimposed in unique color relative to one another. The method includes downsampling the waveforms. The method includes processing the waveforms through an envelope detector. The method includes processing the waveforms through an expander and applying a gain factor. The waveforms have transparency levels at sections that are proportional or inversely proportional to amplitudes at the sections.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR GENERATING AN AUDIO OR MIDI OUTPUT FILE USING A HARMONIC CHORD MAP
Techniques are provided for generating an output file. One technique involves the steps of generating audio or MIDI content blocks from one or more musical performances; receiving an input file having audio or MIDI music content; generating a harmonic chord map for the input file; using the harmonic chord map to automatically select a subset of the audio or MIDI content blocks, and generating the output file by combining the selected subset of content blocks and the input file. This technique may enable the creation of unique and new musical accompaniments by re-purposing audio or MIDI content from back catalogs and/or out-takes of musical works. The new arrangement may be provided in multiple music styles, genres, or moods and may contain performances from multiple musical instruments, which may be pre-recorded from live instrument performances and/or of MIDI generated musical content.
Real-time jamming assistance for groups of musicians
Real-time jamming is automatically assisted for musicians. A real-time audio signal is received of played music that is played by at least one person. Beat is tracked of the played music from the real-time audio signal and accordingly a time of a next beat is predicted. At least one of chords; notes; and drum sounds is recognized from the real-time audio signal and repetitions in the played music are accordingly detected. A next development is predicted in the played music, based on the detected repetitions, including at least one of chords; notes; and drum sounds that will be played next, and respective timing based on the predicted time of the next beat. A real-time output is produced based on the predicted next development in the played music.
Device and method for controlling playback of digital multimedia data as well as a corresponding computer-readable storage medium and a corresponding computer program
A device for controlling playback of digital multimedia displays in first and second portion a representation of a part of the multimedia data, where in the first portion a representation of a part of the multimedia data, which is displayed on the second portion, is displayed, and where the first portion operatable in at least a first and a second mode, where in the first mode independently of a position of a touch point a direction and a speed of the playback is controllable in dependence of a change of the touch point, and in the second mode a new playback position is definable in dependence of the position of the touch point,
for displaying in the second portion a marker for indicating a neighbourhood around the playback position, and
for switching the modus of the first portion, when the marker is moved by user input.
MUSIC GENERATOR
Techniques are disclosed relating to determining composition rules, based on existing music content, to automatically generate new music content. In some embodiments, a computer system accesses a set of music content and generates a set of composition rules based on analyzing combinations of multiple loops in the set of music content. In some embodiments, the system generates new music content by selecting loops from a set of loops and combining selected ones of the loops such that multiple ones of the loops overlap in time. In some embodiments, the selecting and combining loops is performed based on the set of composition rules and attributes of loops in the set of loops.
System for electronically generating music
A musical instrument for electronically producing music from audio segments. The musical instrument comprises: an apparatus having a first surface; a plurality of selectable elements disposed in a substantially circular geometry on the first surface; and at least one memory storing the plurality of audio segments, each of the plurality of audio segments being associated with a respective selectable element in the plurality of selectable elements, wherein, in response to detecting selection of a subset of the plurality of selectable elements, the system is configured to generate music using audio segments in the plurality of audio segments that are associated with the selected subset of the plurality of selectable elements.
Media-media augmentation system and method of composing a media product
A media-content augmentation system includes a database with a multiplicity of media files and associated metadata. Each media file is mapped to at least one contextual theme defined by beginning and end timings. A processing system couples to the database; and an input couples to the processing system. The input is in the form of temporally-varying events data. The processing system resolves the input into one or more categorized contextual themes, correlates the themes with metadata associated with selected media files relevant to the themes, and then splices or fades together selected media files to reflect the events as the input varies with time, thus generating as an output, a media product in which transitions between media are aligned with the temporally-varying events. The database may contain sections of digital media files. A method aligns sections in digital media files with temporally-varying events data to compose a media product.
