Electronic mute for musical instrument
09640152 · 2017-05-02 · ·

A musical instrument mute, a mute body, a microphone, a speaker, and a microcontroller for electronic modification of sound emitted from a musical instrument. A mute body is positionable within a bell or horn of the musical instrument, and the body has a proximal end portion and is configured to at least partially occlude the bell or horn. A microphone is positioned at the proximal end portion of the mute body and is configured to transduce a sound produced by the musical instrument. A speaker is positioned in the mute body as well. A microcontroller is configured to receive a signal from the microphone and to electronically modify the sound of the instrument when emitted through the speaker. Some mutes also provide a communication transceiver, sensors, and input devices to control and manipulate sound produced by the mute.

Vocal processing with accompaniment music input

Systems, including methods and apparatus, for generating audio effects based on accompaniment audio produced by live or pre-recorded accompaniment instruments, in combination with melody audio produced by a singer. Audible broadcast of the accompaniment audio may be delayed by a predetermined time, such as the time required to determine chord information contained in the accompaniment signal. As a result, audio effects that require the chord information may be substantially synchronized with the audible broadcast of the accompaniment audio. The present teachings may be especially suitable for use in karaoke systems, to correct and add sound effects to a singer's voice that sings along with a pre-recorded accompaniment track.

Multimedia apparatus, music composing method thereof, and song correcting method thereof

A multimedia apparatus, a music composing method thereof, and a song correcting method thereof are provided. A music composing method includes setting a type of musical instrument digital interface (MIDI) data according to a user's input, sensing a user interaction, analyzing the sensed user interaction and determining a beat and a pitch of the user interaction, and generating MIDI data using the set type of MIDI data and the determined beat and pitch.

System for remotely generating sound from a musical instrument
09589551 · 2017-03-07 ·

A system for remotely generating sound from a musical instrument. In one embodiment, the system includes an input configured to receive a signal representative of the sound of a first musical instrument, an exciter for converting the signal to mechanical vibrations, and a coupling interface for coupling the mechanical vibrations into a second musical instrument.

Methods and systems for measuring and reporting an energy level of a sound component within a sound mix

Various embodiments relate to determining an energy level of one or more sound components from a sound mix. Based on at least one sound mix signal received from a mixing device and at least one component signal received from one or more sound components, at least one signal value of the sound mix signal and at least one signal value of the component signal may be computed. The component signal corresponds to each of the one or more sound components. An energy level of the one or more sound components may be determined based on the sound mix signal value and the component signal value which corresponds to each of the one or more sound components. The energy level of the one or more sound components may be output in order to determine the energy level of each component in the sound mix.

Performance recording apparatus

A performance recording apparatus includes: a performance information acquiring unit which is configured to acquire performance information indicating a performance performed by a performer; a musical score information acquiring unit which is configured to acquire musical score information indicating a musical score that is used in the performance; and a producing unit which is configured to produce a performance file containing the performance information and the musical score information.

An electronic musical instrument is provided with a voice sensor for detecting a voice uttered by a user, when the user blows into the musical instrument with a voice, a breath sensor for detecting at least one of a blow pressure and a blow volume in a body of the musical instrument, when the user blows into the musical instrument with a voice, and a musical tone controlling unit for controlling generation of a musical tone based on at least one of outputs of the voice sensor and the breath sensor.

Engine sound synthesis system

An engine sound synthesis system is operable to analyze sound. Operation of the system may include providing an input sound signal to be analysed and determining a fundamental frequency of the input signal from the input signal or from at least one guide signal. Furthermore, the frequencies of higher harmonics of the fundamental frequency are determined, thus determining harmonic model parameters. A harmonic signal based on the harmonic model parameters is synthesized and a residual signal is estimated by subtracting the harmonic signal from the input signal. Residual model parameters are estimated based on the residual signal. Furthermore, a corresponding method for synthesizing a sound signal is described.

METHOD FOR ANALYZING SOUNDS WITHIN VEHICLE INTERIOR AND TRANSMITTING CORRESPONDING DRUMKIT SOUNDS OVER SPEAKERS OF VEHICLE
20250266031 · 2025-08-21 · ·

A computer-implemented method and computer program product for capturing sounds caused by a user of a vehicle and transmitting corresponding sounds over speakers of the vehicle. The method includes the steps of: (a) connecting a software application to a vehicle network; (b) capturing a user-generated sound caused by an impact of the user on a component of a vehicle interior; (c) analyzing the captured user-generated sound and associating the user-generated sound with a recorded drum sound; and (d) playing the recorded drum sound over the speakers of the vehicle. The computer program is configured to perform the aforementioned steps.
