Minimalist Interval-Based Musical Instrument
Embodiments are directed to a musical instrument having buttons, where the buttons determine the magnitude of the interval by which the melody will jump from the last note played. With a small number of interval buttons and an up/down strum bar, embodiments can play almost any melody and more notes than a piano. One embodiment is directed to an interval-based guitar including fret buttons whose input signals are used to calculate the interval by which to change the pitch of the prior note. Providing input via a strum bar or a sensor, a new note is generated by adding or subtracting the interval to/from the prior note to generate a new note.
Input device
The present invention relates to a music production system comprising one or more computer processor running music production software and an input device arranged to provide signal inputs to the music production software. The input device comprises a joystick, one or more sensor for monitoring the position and/or orientation of the joystick, and a controller. The sensor output is received by the controller and the controller generates a corresponding signal output to control one or more music production function of the software.
Handheld musical instrument
A handheld musical instrument for generating percussion sounds, the handheld musical instrument includes a body part with one or more sensors, a set of control buttons to select a type of audio output to be generated by said handheld musical instrument, and a handle part coupled to said body part, the handle part including the set of control buttons and operable between a first position and a second position.

Music game software and input device utilizing a video player
A video game includes an audio-video stream combined with game graphics and game sounds. The game graphics are overlaid on the video stream and updated in synchronization with the stream. Update of the game graphics and sounds depends on inputs received from a game player. The game player may provide input using a game controller coupled to the video game by an adapter. The video game may play on a Blu-ray player.
Controller and system for voice generation based on characters
A voice generation device (10b) is configured to generate a voice corresponding to one or a plurality of characters designated in a pre-defined character string. A controller (10a) for the voice generation device is provided with a character selector (60a) configured to be operable by a user to designate the one or a plurality of characters in the character string, and a voice control operator (60b) configured to be operable by the user to control the state of the voice to be generated by the voice generation device. The controller (10a) is provided with a grip (G) suitable for being held with a hand of the user, and the character selector and the voice control operator are provided on the grip. The character selector and the voice control operator are provided on the grip at such positions as to be operable with different fingers of the user holding the grip.
ANALOG SYNTHESIZER PATCH MORPHING AND SIMULTANEOUS PARAMETER CONTROL THOUGH INPUT DEVICES
A sound generating analog synthesizer comprising a controller electronically connected to rotate at least one knob, actuate at least one switch, and make at least one patch connection; said knob comprising a drive system, a shaft position sensor, and a potentiometer; wherein said controller rotates at least one knob by generating instructions to said drive system; said at least one switch comprising an electronic connection to said controller to turn on or off said switch upon receiving instructions from said controller; and at least one patch connection, comprising at least one patch switch, wherein said at least one patch switch controls connection between at least one input of said patch and at least one output of said patch; and a control system to interpolate the potentiometer, switch and patch connections between at least two predetermined settings.
Interactive digital music recorder and player
A digital multi-media device provides features for a user unskilled in musical arts or sound handling techniques that provides automatic musical score composition in accordance with contained composition instructions. Stored sound samples and interfaces for obtaining external signals provide signals for merger with visual and sound presentations to obtain altered presentations either time shifted or in real time. In this fashion the user can create simulated radio stations for playback of prearranged and composed audio material. Further, the automatically composed musical score may be mixed with synthesized, digitized signals from the stored sound samples and external signals obtained through the device interfaces.
