VIBRATO ARM AND SYSTEM
A manual vibrato control device, system and processing arrangement are disclosed. A manual vibrato includes a rotatable shaft, a raised cam section on the shaft, first and second biased collars received on the shaft either side of the cam section, the bias of the first collar being rotationally opposite to the bias of the second collar such that as the shaft rotates in one direction, it receives a return force from the first collar but does not rotate the second collar, and vice versa.
Also disclosed are processing techniques to take the rotational data from rotational sensors, preferably Hall Effect, on the shaft and generate pitch change instructions for a pitch modification device. The mapping is user controllable to produce desired effects and performance.
Digitally pitch-shifted pedal steel guitar
The pedal steel guitar has a plurality of strings strung across the body, with at least one multi-element transducer positioned proximate the strings. At least one foot pedal or knee lever, carried by the body and being physically disengaged from the plurality of strings, is coupled to at least one sensor that produces an electronic sensor signal when the pedal or lever is moved. A digital signal processor receives the electronic transducer signal and the electronic sensor signal and operates on the electronic transducer signal in the digital domain. The processor uses the electronic sensor signal to manipulate at least one tonal property of the electronic sensor signal. The digital signal processor produces an audio output. The digital signal processor is programmed to change the manner in which the digital signal processor manipulates the at least one tonal property based on programming information received through a programming input.
Performance enhancing device and related methods
A performance enhancing device includes a first glove configured to be worn on a first hand of a user. The first glove includes a plurality of finger pockets, at least one pressure sensor secured proximate a distal end of a respective finger pocket and configured to produce an output signal, a processor coupled to the at least one pressure sensor and configured to receive the output signal and translate the output signal to a wireless output signal, and an antenna coupled to the processor and configured to transmit the wireless signal. The performance enhancing device also includes a jacket configured to be worn by the user, where the jacket includes a receiver to receive the wireless output signal, an amplifier coupled to the receiver, and a speaker integrated within the jacket and coupled to the amplifier and configured to produce an audible sound.
Wearable User Interface Device
This invention provides a signal processing and signal synthesis technique from a family of signal processing and signal synthesis techniques designed to readily interwork or be used individually in creating new forms of rich musical timbres. A real-time controllable mix of a plurality of multiple output frequency-reduced signals and the cross-products of these signals provides rich animated harmonically partitioned spectra. Mixing parameters may be recalled from stored program control or modulated in real-time by arbitrary control signals, including envelope generators, low-frequency oscillators, and those derived from an original input signal, and specifically including the amplitude of an original input signal. The real-time controllable mix may have multiple outputs and be subjected to further signal processing and multiple-channel amplification. The invention may be used individually or in conjunction with other signal processing and signal synthesis techniques in creating new forms of rich musical timbres.

Electronic Trumpet Playable Without a Mouthpiece
An electronic trumpet emulating the valves of a trumpet, playable without a mouthpiece. Electronic sensors detect valve positions and pushbuttons select note intervals and play notes when pressed. An internal microcontroller translates valve and button states into Musical Instrument Digital Instrument (MIDI) messages suitable for transmission to an external music synthesizer or internal MIDI Synthesizer Integrated Circuit.
Precision solid state position transducer using magnetic fields, method for detecting the position of a spot on an elongate member, and musical instrument
The position of an elongate member, such as a string of a musical instrument, e.g. a stand-up bass, is detected by creating a radial magnetic field at a spot along the elongate member in which the magnetic field approximates a disk shape with radial field lines that decay as 1/R. R is the distance from the center of the elongate member along a radial field line perpendicular to the axis of the elongate member. Then the position of the spot is detected using magnetic field sensors that are positioned proximal to and on opposite sides of the spot along the elongate member. Electrically amplifying the outputs of the sensors and detecting magnitude and direction of the motion of the spot from the physical orientation of the sensors do this.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECOMMENDING MUSIC, AND BICYCLE
Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method and apparatus for recommending music, and a bicycle, the method including: acquiring a cadence of a sporting user; determining a number of beats corresponding to the acquired cadence according to the cadence, and a preset correspondence relationship between the cadence and the number of beats; and recommending music agreeing with the number of beats for the sporting user according to the number of beats, so that the sporting user can be provided with the music agreeing with his or her sporting state so as to better satisfy the user and to improve the experience of the user.
ELECTRONIC HI-HAT CYMBAL
An electronic hi-hat system having a movable upper housing separated from a stationary lower housing by a spring, with the upper housing having a simulated cymbal attached thereto. The upper housing and simulated cymbal connect through a central vertical rod to a lower foot pedal, with the entire structure supported by a stand on which the lower housing mounts. The lower housing has a Hall effect sensor mounted thereon, and the upper housing has a permanent magnet aligned with and arranged to reciprocate vertically alongside the Hall effect sensor. The position of the magnet on the movable upper housing, and thus the simulated cymbal, is detected by the Hall effect sensor which combines with signals generated by a sound pickup attached to the simulated cymbal that senses the cymbal being struck by a drumstick, the result being transmitted, processed, and amplified into simulated high-hat cymbal sounds
