Systems and methods for analyzing components of audio tracks

A method is described comprising receiving a stem signal and an audio mix signal, wherein the audio mix signal comprises information of the stem signal. The method includes applying a first transform to the stem signal to provide a first stem spectrum, applying a second transform to the stem signal to provide a second stem spectrum, generating a plurality of mix signals using the audio mix signal, applying a first transform to each mix signal of the plurality of mix signals to provide a corresponding first mix signal spectrum, applying a second transform to each mix signal of the plurality of mix signals to provide a corresponding second mix signal spectrum, and using information of the first stem spectrum, the second stem spectrum, a first mix signal spectrum, or a second mix signal spectrum to detect the information of the stem signal in the audio mix signal.

System and method for automatically forming a master digital audio track

A method for automatically forming a master digital audio track is disclosed. A processing device of a digital audio workstation (DAW) may receive a plurality of audio tracks. For each audio track of a plurality of audio tracks, the processing device may place one or more split points at one or more locations on the audio track to produce a plurality of segments that are free of sudden changes in one or more properties of a waveform corresponding to the track. For each audio track of a plurality of audio tracks, the processing device may score each segment of the plurality of segments according to at least one of how closely a pitch of the corresponding waveform is in tune and a degree to which the waveform in the segment surpasses a pre-determined threshold of volume. The processing device may align the plurality of segments of each track of the plurality of audio tracks according to corresponding split points across the plurality of audio tracks. The processing device may select one or more best scoring segments from the plurality of aligned segments to produce a suggested master digital audio track. The processing device may present the suggested master digital audio track in an editing window of a monitor associated with the DAW.

A musical sound processing apparatus includes: a first generation part configured to generate a plurality of first signals in which at least one of a frequency characteristic and a time response of each of a plurality of processing unit signals obtained from a musical sound signal is modified; and a second generation part configured to generate a plurality of second signals in which at least one of a frequency characteristic and a time response of a noise signal associated with one or more of the plurality of processing unit signals is replaced with at least one of a frequency characteristic and a time response of the corresponding first signal.

Mutable direct box and integrated phantom-powered music instrument tuner

Apparatuses, systems and methods are presented which provide for a musical instrument direct box combined with a musical instrument tuner which may be phantom powered from an external audio system. In some embodiments, an apparatus is presented that includes a direct box (DI) module and a musical instrument tuner module coupled to the DI module. The instrument tuner module may be phantom powered based on connection to a remote system geographically distinct from the apparatus, and configured to measure the pitch of the instrument signal and mute the instrument signal simultaneously. In some example embodiments, the apparatus may also include a tuning transformer coupled to the musical instrument tuner module and the DI module, the tuning transformer configured to galvanically isolate a ground domain of the instrument signal from a ground domain of the remote system while the musical instrument tuner module measures the pitch of the musical instrument signal.

Multi-Channel Noise Reduction System with Direct Instrument Tracking

A multi-channel noise reduction system provides improved noise reduction with direct instrument tracking of all channels. In a two channel noise reduction system, both channels detect and track the input level and dynamic range of the guitar directly with one channel of dynamic noise reduction between the guitar and the input of a guitar amplifier to eliminate the noise of the instrument and another channel of noise reduction connected in the effects loop of the guitar amplifier. Multiple channels of noise reduction can be implemented with separated threshold controls and with low level expansion and dynamic filtering being combined so as to detect and track the input level and dynamic range of the guitar directly. A buffer amplifier can be used to feed the direct guitar signal to the detectors of the noise reduction system and the input of a stereo guitar system.
