SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CAPTURING AND INTERPRETING AUDIO
A device is provided as part of a system, the device being for capturing vibrations produced by an object such as a musical instrument. Via a fixation element, the device is fixed to a drum. The device has a sensor spaced apart from a surface of the drum, located relative to the drum, and a magnet adjacent the sensor. The fixation element transmits vibrations from its fixation point on the drum to the magnet. Vibrations from the surface of the drum and from the magnet are transmitted to the sensor. A method may further be provided for interpreting an audio input, such as the output of the sensors within the system, the method comprising identifying an audio event or grouping of audio events within audio data, generating a model of the audio event that includes a representation of a timbre characteristic, and comparing that representation to expected representations.
HI-HAT CYMBAL SOUND GENERATION APPARATUS, HI-HAT CYMBAL SOUND GENERATION METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
A hi-hat cymbal sound generation apparatus according to the present invention includes an input part, a recording part, a trigger part and a sound volume control part. The input part acquires distance information on a distance between a top pad and a bottom pad, state information and vibration information on a vibration of the top pad. The input part acquires the state information by determining the state information based on a corrected distance, which is obtained by adding a distance correction value, which corresponds to a magnitude of the vibration indicated by the vibration information, to the distance indicated by the distance information. The recording part records data on a hit sound in each state indicated by the state information. The trigger part checks whether the vibration indicated by the vibration information falls within a predetermined range in which a sound generation procedure is to be started.
Interactive instruments and other striking objects
Systems, methods, and devices for providing interactive striking objects (e.g., drumsticks) and performing actions in response to striking motions of the striking objects are disclosed. In some embodiments, the systems and methods provide an interactive drumstick, which includes a lighting display located at a tip portion of the interactive drumstick, a motion detector contained at least partially within the drumstick, a processor and memory contained at least partially within the drumstick, and an interactive system stored within the memory of the drumstick. The interactive system includes a striking motion module that determines striking motions of the drumstick with respect to a virtual percussion instrument based on accessing information measured by the motion detector, and a display module that causes the lighting display to present a certain type of illumination based on the striking motions determined by the striking motion module.
Musical performance device and non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing musical performance program
A storage medium storing a musical performance program and a musical performance device are provided. A musical sound is output through a clicking operation performed on an operation button, and a tone parameter is changed through a dragging operation. A parameter display part 6a is displayed on the operation button. When the musical sound is output through a clicking operation performed on the operation button, a user can recognize a state of the tone parameter of the output musical sound in advance through the parameter display part. Since the tone parameter set through a dragging operation performed on the operation button is reflected to the parameter display part, the tone parameter is recognized without looking away from the operation button.
HI-HAT CYMBAL SOUND GENERATION APPARATUS, HI-HAT CYMBAL SOUND GENERATION METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM
To provide a change of sound in response to a player's operation that is close to the change of sound of real hi-hat cymbals. A hi-hat cymbal sound generation apparatus according to the present invention includes an input part, a recording part, a trigger part and a sound volume control part. The input part acquires state information and vibration information. The recording part records data on a foot close sound, data on a foot open sound, and data on a hit sound in each state indicated by the state information. The trigger part checks whether the vibration indicated by the vibration information falls within a predetermined range in which a sound generation procedure is to be started, and starts sound generation procedures for at least all the hit sounds when the trigger part determines that the vibration falls within the range in which a sound generation procedure is to be started.
