To ring the bell, a user presses the strike lever thereby spring loading the lever as the lever moves away from the bell strike surface. When the strike lever is released, the spring loading causes the strike lever to swing to strike the bell body to ring the bell. The strike lever is configured to strike the bell body while traveling in a direction having a radially outward vector component.
