Systems for recessing subfloor structures

A method is provided for supporting a recessed subfloor panel in a lowered position relative to an adjacent, primary subfloor, the primary subfloor being supported from beneath by one or more floor supports. The method includes positioning a spanning brace between a pair of floor supports and adjusting a length of the spanning brace such that the spanning brace engages and is supported by lateral, vertical sides of the pair of floor supports. A recessed subfloor panel is supported atop the spanning brace, the recessed subfloor panel being supported at a lower elevation than an adjacent, primary subfloor.

The invention relates to a shower tray comprising a base element provided with a peripheral edge from where an inclined surface projects towards a drainage opening, and a surface for supporting the user formed by floor tiles, and comprising strips which protrude from the inclined surface, wherein the upper faces of the strips form a horizontal base surface for the floor tiles, a groove is formed at least between two floor tiles for the evacuation of the water towards the inclined surface, wherein first ends of the floor tiles are secured on at least one transverse band or strip, and one swivelling end of the transverse band or strip comprises a corner with a right-angled profile and adapted to slide on the longitudinal recess, when the floor tiles are withdrawn from their horizontal base surface.

A shower floor former assembly is provided which comprises a shower floor former having a non-circular waste-plate receiver and a drain waste plate which is dimensioned to be receivable in the waste-plate receiver. A centre point of the waste-plate receiver is offset from a centre point of the shower floor former, and the drain waste plate has a drainage aperture therethrough, a centre point of the drainage aperture being offset from a centre point of the drain waste plate. The drain waste plate is receivable in the waste-plate receiver in a first condition in which the centre point of the drainage aperture is offset relative to the centre point of the shower floor former. The drain waste plate is also receivable in the waste-plate receiver in a second condition in which the centre point of the drainage aperture is coincident with the centre point of the shower floor former.

A low profile drain includes a first extrusion channel extending lengthwise in a first direction, a second extrusion channel extending lengthwise in the first direction, and a connection channel extending lengthwise in the first direction. The connection channel is configured to interlock with an end of the first extrusion channel via a first interlocking mechanism, and interlock with an end of the second extrusion channel via a second interlocking mechanism. The first interlocking mechanism includes at least one first angular protrusion disposed on the first extrusion channel, and a first angular recess disposed on the connection channel. The at least one first angular protrusion is configured to interlock with the first angular recess.

A shower base assembly includes a shower base, a drain grate frame, a double-threaded flange nipple, and a rubber gasket. The shower base includes a upper side pre-sloped to allow for water drainage to drain hole extending to a lower side of the shower base. The drain grate frame is insertable through the drain hole from the shower base upper side to be received within the double-threaded flange nipple. An industry standard plumbing drain body may engage the double-threaded flange nipple from the shower base tower side. The rubber gasket is compressed against the shower base about the drain hole between the double-threaded flange nipple and the drain body.

In some embodiments, a trench can be disposed on a side of the floor, while in other embodiments, a trench can be disposed in a center of the floor (e.g., between a first floor section and a second floor section).

A structural, shower base assembly is provided. The assembly includes a tile-over shower base pan, a tile drain grate frame, a double threaded flange nipple, and a rubber gasket. The tile-over shower base pan includes a dorsal side pre-sloped to allow for consistent water draining to a dorsal opening of a centered drain hole of the tile-over shower base pan, and a ventral side having a ventral opening of the centered drain hole of the tile-over shower base pan and a reinforcement ring. The tile drain grate frame is compatible with the dorsal opening and the ventral opening. The double threaded flange nipple is compatible with the tile drain grate frame and an industry standard plumbing drain body. The rubber gasket is compressed to the reinforcement ring to seal a connection between the double threaded flange nipple and the industry standard plumbing drain body.
