Frameless shower implement having grooved surfacing
A shower pan installation kit is disclosed comprising a hexahedrial polymeric curb and a tray having one or more graded or concave panels defining a recess for a drain. The inward surface of the curb is recessed inward and upward. This recess, or groove, is for receiving a waterproof membrane overlaid and overlapping the tray for improvement of the waterproof barrier underlaying the shower pan constructed above the kit.
Process of Fabrication of a Shower Tray and a Shower Cubicle, Shower Tray and a Shower Cubicle Made according to this Process
A process of fabrication of a shower tray wherein it comprises the steps of: selecting a plate in thermoplastic material; cutting at least one corner; heating the plate to soften it; forming the plate on a mold to raise the convex limit at the at least one corner and the edges between the cuts, the junction between a central portion of the plate, forming a bottom, and each raised edge being curved; and joining raised edges at each corner.
Barrier free shower pan with improved drainage paths
A shower pan (10), preferably having rectangular planform includes a central drain (20) that is centered in a floor portion that inclines at a shallow angle (i.e., 3 degrees or so) to front and back sides and opposite ends. The floor portion and includes a shallow channel (46) along the front edge of the shower pan (10) into which all or substantially all water is drained to a second channel (48) into a central drain (20). An apertured grill or cover plate assembly (36) is mounted in the channels and serves as a cover for the various channels. The shower pan (10) is typically installed so that a sill surface (50) is at the same elevation as the pre-existing floor (52) to provide an entry that does not have any type of trip points or obstructions that could pose a hazard to the user or impede assistive aids, such as walkers or wheeled chairs.
Water-Management System
A building water-management system includes a base material and fiber composite sheets attached to the base material. Each fiber composite sheet includes a fiber core having a first side, an opposing second side, and a surface layer adhered to the first side of the fiber core. Adjacent fiber composite sheets are connected together by a lapped configuration such that the surface layer of a first fiber composite sheet extends from the base material and onto a fiber core of an adjacent second fiber composite sheet and the fiber cores of the first and second fiber composite sheets are aligned next to each other to allow water to flow between the fiber cores, thereby forming a continuous water drainage and repellant layer. A shower assembly using the fiber composite sheets is also disclosed.
Shower floor
A shower pan provides a shower floor adjoining a surrounding bathroom floor with no raised lip, curb or other obstruction between the two. This allows easy wheeled access for the disabled and comprises a drain plate in combination with an underlayment, which provide a gradual slope from a surrounding floor to a drain and supported on unmodified joists with upper surfaces in the same plane as surrounding bathroom floor joists.
