Bearing device
A bearing device includes an annular hub cap facing an inner ring. An inner annular surface of the hub cap abuts a part of one end surface of the inner ring which extends from an inner peripheral edge to an intermediate position located on the way from the inner peripheral edge to an outer peripheral edge. An annular adhesive retaining portion is formed between the area extending from the intermediate position to the outer peripheral edge of one end surface and at least an inclined annular surface of the hub cap.
STORAGE CONTROL APPARATUS EQUIPPED WITH STORAGE DEVICE, METHOD OF CONTROLLING SAME, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
A storage control apparatus capable of suppressing reduction of the service life of a storage device, caused due to increase of the number of times of ON/OFF operation of a spindle motor, while suppressing occurrence of accidental failure of the spindle motor. The storage control apparatus is equipped with an HDD including a magnetic disk and the spindle motor for rotating the magnetic disk. A value indicating a use state of the storage control apparatus is acquired, and the operation mode of the HDD is set, based on the acquired value, to one of a suppression operation mode for suppressing the total rotation time of the spindle motor and a normal operation mode for suppressing the number of times of ON/OFF operation of the spindle motor.
Dual symmetrical actuator hard disk drive
Disclosed herein is a dual actuator magnetic storage device that comprises a housing, magnetic disks in the housing, an interface connector located proximate a first corner of the housing formed by a first short side and a first long side, a first voice coil motor proximate a second corner of the first short side and a second long side, a first carriage arm positioned near the first short side to move the first carriage arm relative to the magnetic disks, a second voice coil motor positioned proximate a second short side along the first long side, a second carriage arm positioned near the second short side and coupled to the second voice coil motor to move the second carriage arm. The interface connector is recessed into a base of the housing along the first short side to be near the first long side to provide electrical communication through the housing.
MOTOR DRIVER DEVICE, SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING THE SAME
A motor driver device includes: a driver driving a motor by a driving method, wherein the driving method includes: a first driving method performing driving control of the motor based on zero cross timing of back electromotive force generated in a coil of a predetermined phase; and a second driving method performing driving control of the motor such that a first differential phase between zero cross timing of driving current flowing through the coil of the predetermined phase and zero cross timing of driving voltage applied to the coil of the predetermined phase coincides with predetermined first target phase, and wherein, even when the motor is being driven by the first driving method, the first differential phase is sequentially detected and, when transition from the first driving method to the second driving method occurs, the first differential phase detected immediately before the transition is set to the first target phase.
Motor and disk drive
A motor of a disk drive includes a stationary portion, a bearing portion attached to the stationary portion, and a rotating portion supported by the stationary portion to be rotatable about a central axis through the bearing portion. The stationary portion includes a stator in which multiple coils annularly extend around the central axis, and a base portion located below the stator. The base portion is a portion of a housing that defines an internal space accommodating the rotating portion, the bearing portion, and the stator. The base portion includes a through hole that guides a lead drawn from the coil from the internal space of the housing to the outside. The through hole is filled with an adhesive, and includes an inclined hole that is inclined axially downward.
MOTOR DRIVER DEVICE AND SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICE
A motor driver device for driving a motor with a full-bridge circuit includes: a switching driver configured to perform switching driving in which a switching voltage is supplied from the full-bridge circuit to the motor; a linear driver configured to perform linear driving in which a continuous linear voltage is supplied from the full-bridge circuit to the motor; and a control circuit configured to set a driving mode of the motor to a switching driving mode in which the switching driving is performed or a linear driving mode in which the linear driving is performed.
MOTOR AND DISK DRIVE
A motor for a disk drive includes a stationary unit, a bearing mechanism attached to the stationary unit, and a rotation unit supported on the stationary unit rotatably around a central axis via the bearing mechanism. The stationary unit includes a base portion that is a part of a housing defining an internal space sealed in the disk drive and includes a recess portion recessed from a side of the internal space toward an outside of the housing and not penetrated. The bearing mechanism includes a shaft extending in a direction of the central axis and a sleeve surrounding at least a portion of an outer circumferential surface of the shaft. A lower end portion of the shaft is press-fit and glued into the recess portion, and a lower surface of the base portion including a base step portion extending toward an axially upper side.
