FINGERPRINTING OF DATA
Fingerprinting, including: receiving a plurality of master datasets, each master dataset divided into a plurality of input segments, wherein at least one master dataset of said plurality of master datasets is uniquely marked; selecting a corresponding input segment from one of said plurality of master datasets; storing a segment identifier indicating from which master dataset said selected corresponding input segment was selected; and sending said selected corresponding input segment to a client computer system over a computer network.
Method and apparatus for video compression of multiple instances using index frames
The system provides a method and apparatus for writing a unique copy of data associated with each of a plurality of individual users, without the need for storing duplicate copies of the entire data file. The system provides for creating an unusable copy of a portion of the data that is to be shared by all users of the complete data. The system will store and optionally encrypt and/or watermark a unique copy of the remainder portion of the data for each unique user. When accessed from storage, the system will combine the shared portion with the unique remainder to reconstitute the entire file for access by the user. Deleting the unique remainder associated with a particular user makes all of the data useless to that user. In one embodiment, the system first compresses the entire data file using index frames and delta.
System and method for preventing unauthorized recording, retransmission and misuse of audio and video
In some embodiments, a method includes receiving, at a device, digital audio content to be converted by a digital-to-analog converter to produce analog audio content. The digital audio content has at least one audible frequency. The method also includes selecting, at the device, a first signal and a second signal to output with the analog audio content. The first signal has an inaudible carrier frequency and a bandwidth, and the second signal also has an inaudible carrier frequency and a bandwidth. A difference between the first signal and the second signal is an undesired audible signal. The method further includes outputting, from the device, the analog audio content, the first signal and the second signal, such that when the analog audio content is detected by a recording device the undesired audible signal is detected with the analog audio content.
Multimedia storage systems and methods
An article of manufacture includes a machine-readable medium that stores a multimedia content file in a first format and multiple program sets. Each program set is a version of software that, when executed by a respective electronic system, produces the multimedia content file in a second format for use in the respective electronic system. A first program set is compatible with a first operating system executed by a first electronic system and a second program set is compatible with a second operating system executed by a second electronic system. The second operating system is distinct from the first operating system.
Fingerprinting of data
A method of identifying a source of media, including: performing the following actions using at least one computer: identifying a plurality of segments arranged to form said media; generating a representative master key (RMK) of said media from the arrangement of the plurality of segments, wherein the RMK comprises a first listing of master identifiers corresponding to the plurality of segments, each master identifier of the first listing of master identifiers identifying a source master of each segment of the plurality of segments; receiving a listing of fingerprints, each fingerprint of the listing of fingerprints having a corresponding identifier that identifies the source of said media, said each fingerprint also including a second listing of master identifiers; and comparing the first listing of master identifiers in the RMK to the second listing of master identifiers in said each fingerprint in the listing of fingerprints to identify the source.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING MEDIA CONVEYANCE BY A DEVICE TO A USER BASED ON CURRENT LOCATION OF THE DEVICE
A method for execution by a customer premises receiver, comprising: receiving a signal that carries an original media stream; determining a location of the receiver; obtaining an identifier of an authorized region for the receiver; determining whether said location is contained within said authorized region; if said location is determined to be contained within said authorized region, outputting the original media stream for conveyance to a user; if said location is determined to not be contained within said authorized region, outputting a second media stream that is sufficiently corrupted relative to the original media stream as to degrade the user's viewing experience while being demonstrative of non-malfunctioning of the receiver. Also, a method, comprising a service provider releasing towards a plurality of customer premises receivers information regarding a respective geographic region within which each receiver is authorized to operate, wherein different geographic regions define coverage areas of different sizes.
Method and Electronic Device for Controlling Video Playing
The present disclosure relates to a method and electronic device for controlling video play. Wherein, the method for controlling video play may include: acquiring identity information of a current playing device when a video is played; generating a watermark logo comprising the identity information; and displaying the watermark logo on a playing interface of the video.
Printer driver separately applying watermark and information
The present invention provides a printer responsive to commands from printer driver software. The printer driver software is characterized by being responsive to two types of input data. One of the types includes text data, and the other of the types includes watermark data. The two types of data are separately applied to printer driver software, rather than integrated together prior to application to the printer driver software.
Method and apparatus for determining watermark symbols in a received audio signal that can contain echoes, reverberation and/or noise
Following transmission of a watermarked audio signal over an acoustic path causing echoes, reverberation and/or noise, watermark detection correlation result peak values are concentrated within a limited temporal range around main correlation result peaks, which limited temporal range is much smaller than the total correlation length. The watermark detection is based on the following: given n.sub.p correlation result peak values v=(v.sub.1, v.sub.2, . . . , v.sub.np) in an average or expected probability distribution for correlation result values for unmarked content, the probability is calculated that within windows covering the limited temporal range there are n.sub.p or more values from a correlation result value set greater than or equal to these peaks v.
