IMAGE CAPTURE DEVICE, RECORDING DEVICE, AND DISPLAY CONTROL DEVICE
An image capture device for recording HDR (high dynamic range) image data obtained through image capture performs control so as to, when encoding HDR image data obtained by capturing an image with an image sensor, divide part of the HDR image data corresponding to a coding area to be encoded into a plurality of divided HDR image data, encode each of the plurality of divided HDR image data by using encoding means, and record the plurality of divided HDR image data that are encoded on a recording medium in a predetermined recording format.
Information processing apparatus
A setting unit is configured to set first write processing for writing second data in a hard disk, or second write processing for writing the second data in the hard disk and reading data that is written by writing of the second data, and a change unit is configured to change the write processing set in the setting unit. The change unit changes the write processing set in the setting unit from the first write processing to the second write processing, based on determination that the first data is greater than or equal to a threshold by a determination unit.
Multichannel tape recording device having calibrated span of transducers
An apparatus according to one approach includes a module having an array of transducers having at least two transducers. The apparatus also includes a persistent memory having stored therein data of a span of the array of transducers at a particular temperature. An apparatus according to another approach includes a module having fiducials at known positions relative to an array of transducers. The apparatus also includes a persistent memory having stored therein data of a span between the fiducials at a particular temperature. The fiducial span may be used in conjunction with the known locations of the fiducials relative to the array to characterize the span of the array.
Remapping tracks for management of adjacent track interference
A method includes monitoring operations performed on tracks in a main storage area of a disc, and identifying a track of the tracks in the main storage area susceptible to adjacent track interference (ATI). When a track is identified, the identified track or an adjacent track which contributes to ATI of the identified track is remapped to an ATI safe zone of the disc having a tracks per inch (TPI) density lower than a TPI density of the main storage area.
Zone self servo writing with synchronized parallel clocks
Zone self-servo write (SSW) technology is disclosed that leverages two clock signals synchronized in parallel to transition between zones to write servo patterns at different frequencies while minimizing error rate despite the different frequencies. Two separate clock signals (clocks) are used to locate and lock to different reference spirals. By updating both clocks in parallel instead of in series, error rate for writing while stepping up frequency across zones is reduced.
Magnetic recording apparatus and method of controlling magnetic head thereof
According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording apparatus measures and stores recording signal quality of a disk at an initial stage, inspects the recording signal quality before data is recorded, determines whether or not the recording signal quality obtained in the inspection satisfies a standard when compared to the stored recording signal quality at the initial stage, adjusts, based on a result of the determination, light irradiation power of a light irradiation element so as to satisfy the standard, determines a read offset amount based on a result of the adjustment, and performs control so that a position of a read head is shifted based on the determined read offset amount.
Magnetic tape, magnetic tape cartridge, and magnetic tape apparatus
The magnetic tape includes a non-magnetic support and a magnetic layer, in which the magnetic layer has a timing-based servo pattern, an edge shape of the timing-based servo pattern, specified by magnetic force microscopy is a shape in which a difference between a value L.sub.99.9 of a cumulative distribution function of 99.9% and a value L.sub.0.1 of a cumulative distribution function of 0.1% in a position deviation width from an ideal shape of the magnetic tape in a longitudinal direction is 180 nm or less, and a difference between a spacing S.sub.0.5 measured, after n-hexane cleaning, on a surface of the magnetic layer under a pressure of 0.5 atm by optical interferometry and a spacing S.sub.13.5 measured, after n-hexane cleaning, under a pressure of 13.5 atm is 3.0 nm or less, and S.sub.0.5 is 5.0 nm or more.
Magnetic disk drive and recording method for magnetic disk drive
According to one embodiment, there is provided a magnetic disk drive comprising a magnetic disk, a magnetic head configured to read/write data from/to the magnetic disk, a signal processing circuit configured to convert data to be recorded on the magnetic disk into a write signal, and to output the write signal to the magnetic head that generates a recording magnetic field corresponding to the write signal, and a recording control circuit configured to control the signal processing circuit and the magnetic head to record, in a target recording area of the magnetic disk, first data in the target recording area with a recording magnetic field having a first frequency, and to write, second data different from the first data over the first data with a recording magnetic field having a second frequency higher than the first frequency.
Video recording apparatus and video recording method
A video recording apparatus includes a recording device having a location information area and a video data area. The location information area stores location information of video data stored in the video data area. The video data area stores the video data in units of blocks with a size of 1 MB or greater. The tail end of the block is used as a table of contents region for storing table of contents information of a plurality of the most-recent blocks. By providing the table of contents regions at a predetermined frequency, the tables of contents of all blocks being used in the video data area are retained in a distributed and redundant manner. Whenever the power supply is re-activated, the tables of contents regions are read, and pieces of the table of contents information are joined appropriately to construct a complete table of contents in memory.
Method and device for improving file system write bandwidth through hard disk track management
Various implementations of hard disk track management method, device, and system disclosed herein enable improvements of file system write bandwidth. In various implementations, a method is performed at a disk storage including a file controller controlling a disk drive with a disk platter that is divided into multiple regions including a fast region. In various implementations, the method includes receiving a write request associated with data to be written to the disk drive and in response, determining a disk utilization of the disk drive. In various implementations, the method further includes placing the disk drive in a surge mode to write the data to the fast region upon determining that the disk utilization is above a first threshold, and placing the disk drive in a non-surge mode to write the data to other regions of the multiple regions upon determining that the disk utilization is below a second threshold.
