A data recording apparatus including: a data reading device configured to read data from a first recording medium and configured to store data and first management data for managing the data by file; a data recording device configured to record data on a second recording medium; a management data producing device configured to produce second management data for managing data recorded on the second recording medium based on the first management data of the first recording medium on which the data recorded on the second recording medium has been recorded; a data determining device configured to determine data unrecorded on the second recording medium by comparing the first management data read by the data reading device from the first recording medium with the second management data recorded on the second recording medium; a control device configured to read the data determined by the data determining device from the first recording medium and cause the recording device to record the read data onto the second recording medium; and a display device configured to display the recording status of data, managed by the first management data read by the reading device from the first recording medium, on the second recording medium, wherein the recording status includes one of recording of data complete, recording of data in progress, and recording of data yet to begin.
Waveform data structure, waveform data storage device, waveform data storing method, waveform data extracting device, waveform data extracting method and electronic musical instrument
A waveform data structure includes a plurality of types of frames having different data sizes. Each of the plurality of types of frames includes an auxiliary information area and a data area. The auxiliary information area includes an area for storing common effective-bit length data for a section of waveform samples, and an area for storing an identifier for identifying one of the plurality of types of frames. The data area is an area for storing extracted waveform samples which are extracted from the waveform samples based on the common effective-bit length. The number of the extracted waveform samples is determined based on the common effective-bit length.
SERVO ZONE TRANSITION OPTIMIZATION
Systems and methods for servo zone transition optimization are described. In one embodiment, the storage system device includes a disk drive and a controller. In some embodiments, the controller may be configured to assess at least one operation of a read/write head of the disk drive; and format, based at least in part on the assessing of the read/write head, a disk surface of the disk drive with a first servo zone, a second servo zone, and an overlap region extending between a start point of the second servo zone and an end point of the first servo zone. In some cases, the overlap region starts towards a disk inner diameter (ID) and ends towards a disk outer diameter (OD).
MAGNETIC DISK DEVICE
According to one embodiment, a magnetic disk device includes a disk that has a track including a first servo sector and a second servo sector that is different from the first servo sector, a head that writes data to the disk and reads data from the disk, and a controller that records first signal strength record data related to a signal strength at which first target servo data that is a target of the first servo sector is read, and standardizes first signal strength data related to a signal strength at which the first target servo data is read when the first target servo data is read.
MAGNETIC REPRODUCTION PROCESSING DEVICE, MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE, AND MAGNETIC REPRODUCING METHOD
According to one embodiment, a magnetic reproduction processing device includes a decoder. The decoder includes a convolutional layer including a plurality of filters, and an attention layer configured to derive a degree of contribution related to the filters. The decoder is configured to output a decoded result obtained by integrating results of processing an input signal with the filters according to the degree of contribution.
Offset spiral data track format for data storage devices
Example control circuitry, data storage devices, and methods to provide a spiral data track format that is different from the underlying servo track format are described. The data storage device may include a storage medium configured with a plurality of tracks in at least one continuous spiral pattern and a head actuated over the storage medium. The data tracks may be written to the storage medium with track lengths that are different than a single revolution of the storage medium.
Self-healing in a storage system
A storage system such as a hard disc drive (HDD), solid-state drive (SSD), hybrid drive (SSHD), storage rack, set of storage racks, JBOD, array of discs, etc. may include a variety of storage media. Failures may be detected in the storage media of the storage system. Such a failure may affect the physical capacity of the storage system. A storage controller of the storage system initiates a media conversion that converts a portion of the storage media from media storing data according to a first recording scheme to a media storing data according to a second recording scheme. The second recording scheme stores data at a higher density compared to the first recording scheme.
Multiple-actuator drive with separate, radially-defined, zones having reduced skew and/or different track properties
First tracks are read via a first head that is moved via a first actuator over a first, radially-defined, zone of a disk surface. Second tracks are read via a second head that is moved via a second actuator over a second zone of the disk surface that is separate from the first zone. The first and second heads are optimized to read data within first and second skew angle ranges associated with the first and second zones. The first and second skew angle ranges are each less than a total skew angle range of the disk surface.
ALERT FAULT DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A method and system of fault detection for an alert generation system. In the audio alert generation system, a stored digital alert audio file is selected to be processed to generate an analog audio signal to drive a speaker. An alert fault detection system obtaining a signal from the audio alert generation system, converts the obtained signal to a digitally-formatted obtained audio signal, detects a fault in the audio alert generation system by comparing the digitally-formatted obtained audio signal with the stored digital alert audio file, and triggers a fault indicator
