Disk device to cover a welded part or a housing with a protective member
According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a recording medium of a disk form, a magnetic head, a housing, and a first protective member made of a resin. The recording medium includes a recording layer. The magnetic head is configured to read/write information from/to the recording medium. The housing includes a base provided with an inner chamber in which the recording medium and the magnetic head are accommodated, a cover that covers the inner chamber, and a welded part at which the base and the cover are welded to each other. The first protective member is located outside the housing, to cover at least part of the welded part.
Base for protecting external welds of hermetically sealed electronic devices
Described herein is a hard disk drive that includes a base and a cover. The base includes a closed end, sidewalls, an open end, and one or more corner portions. The sidewalls extend from the closed end, and the open end is defined by the sidewalls. The closed end, sidewalls, and open end define an interior cavity of the hard disk drive. Each corner portion is proximate a respective intersection of the sidewalls and positioned exteriorly of the interior cavity. The cover is welded to the sidewalls over the open end by a weld bead such that the weld bead is positioned between the interior cavity and the corner portions. The weld bead hermetically seals the cover to the base. Furthermore, at least one of the corner portions is at least substantially flush with the cover.
Disk drive base unit with communicating groove extending outside outer circumferential portion of connector
A base member of a disk drive apparatus includes a window portion, a first groove, and a communicating groove. The window portion passes through a bottom plate portion of the base member in an axial direction. The first groove is defined in an upper surface of the bottom plate portion around the window portion. A connector includes a board portion and an electrode terminal on a lower surface of the board portion. The board portion is on the upper surface of the bottom plate portion to cover the window portion, the first groove, and a portion of the communicating groove. The communicating groove extends from the first groove up to a position outside of an outer circumferential portion of the connector. An adhesive layer is between the upper surface of the bottom plate portion and the lower surface of the board portion.
Screwless drawing box for hard disk drives and hard disk drive swappable module using the same
A screwless hard disk drive (HDD) drawing box and a HDD swappable module are provided, which includes a HDD cartridge for receiving a hard disk drive. The HDD cartridge has a bottom board, and two sideboards connected to two opposite sides of the bottom board. The two side plates of the hard disk drive are close to the two sideboards. One of the sideboards has a plurality of fixing pins. The other sideboard of the HDD cartridge has a plurality of elastic snapping members opposite to the fixing pins. Each of the elastic snapping members has a snapping bump and an elastic element. Each snapping bump is arranged on the elastic element at the other sideboard of the HDD cartridge opposite to the fixing pins. The fixing pins and the snapping bumps are inserted in the thread holes of the two side plates of the hard disk drive.
STORAGE CASE AND PACKAGE
A storage case includes a support surface that supports side surfaces of a plurality of magnetic tape cartridges, and the support surface has a first surface, and a second surface positioned closer to the side surfaces than the first surface.
DISK DEVICE
According to one embodiment, a disk device includes a housing including a sidewall, a magnetic disk, a wireless communication device including a first communication antenna, and a first insulating member. The sidewall includes a first through portion. The first insulating member closes the first through portion. The first communication antenna is located in the first through portion, is disposed spaced from the housing, and wirelessly communicates with an outside of the housing.
Adhesive Leak Channel Structure For Hermetic Sealing Of A Hard Disk Drive
In the context of a hard disk drive (HDD), an adhesive leak channel structural feature is positioned in an area at which an electrical feed-through is adhered with an adhesive to an enclosure base, where the leak channel feature inhibits the leakage of gas through the adhesive. Embodiments include providing the leak channel feature on the base and/or on the feed-through. Embodiments may further include application of an electrodeposition coating to the base in an area at which the adhesive is in contact.
Storage cartridge dock system
A storage cartridge dock system and method are provided. The storage cartridge dock system in one example includes a case including a front panel, an upper cartridge slot formed in the front panel of the case and configured to receive an upper storage cartridge, with the upper cartridge slot including an upper interface connector, at least a lower cartridge slot formed in the front panel and configured to receive a lower storage cartridge, with the at least lower cartridge slot including a lower interface connector, and a first external connector and a second external connector coupled to the upper interface connector of the upper cartridge slot and coupled to the lower interface connector of the at least lower cartridge slot.
Hard drive tray device
A hard drive tray device applied in a server is provided. The server includes a housing. The hard drive tray device includes a rail member and a tray. The rail member is disposed at the inner wall of the housing. The tray is slidably engaged with the rail member so as to slide between an expanded position and a closed position relative to the housing. The tray includes a base for carrying two storage devices. The base has a hollow portion. The storage devices are respectively located at two sides of the hollow portion. When the tray slides to the expanded position, one of the storage devices and at least a part of the hollow portion are located outside the housing.
Carrier system for supporting memory storage drives of multiple sizes
Described herein are example carrier systems for supporting memory storage drives of multiple sizes. The carrier systems include a carrier tray having a u-shape formed by a front bezel that extends between first and second lateral plates, and a tray adapter removably attached to the carrier tray. The carrier tray has a carrier internal space between the first and second lateral plates and is configured to receive a first memory storage drive. The tray adapter has a bottom plate that extends between first and second side walls. The tray adapter has a tray internal space between the first and second side walls, the tray internal space is configured to receive a second memory storage drive.
