The peripheral side wall forms a corner of the debris canister, and the filter media has a rounded-corner shaped to fit adjacent to the corner of the peripheral side wall.

The present disclosure provides a control method capable of, by using a current value of a nozzle, determining whether a nozzle is separated from a vacuum cleaner and whether the nozzle is reconnected to the vacuum cleaner after separation. To this end, a vacuum cleaner may comprise a nozzle connectable to a suction unit for suctioning dusts. The nozzle may comprise a rotary cleaning unit for applying pressure to a cleaning target surface so as to separate a foreign substance therefrom, and a nozzle motor for driving the rotary cleaning unit. In order to drive the nozzle, a voltage having been controlled by a pulse width modulation (PWM) method is applied, and a measurement unit included in the vacuum cleaner may measure a current value of the nozzle, the current value depending on the applied voltage.

A nozzle for use with a surface cleaning device is disclosed that includes a nozzle housing defining a dirty air inlet, at least a first caster coupled to the nozzle housing to allow for movement of the nozzle housing over a surface to be cleaned, and a caster locking arrangement coupled to the nozzle housing. The caster locking arrangement preferably includes at least a first locking member to transition the first caster between a locked configuration and an unlocked configuration, with the locked configuration limiting movement of the nozzle housing along a single axis during cleaning operations, and the unlocked configuration allowing for movement of the nozzle housing along a plurality of axes/directions during cleaning operations.

A backpack dust collector includes a housing, a slit portion, and a noise-absorbing member. The housing includes a suction port, a dust collecting chamber, a motor chamber, and an exhaust port. The dust collecting chamber is connected to the suction port and configured to accommodate a dust collecting bag. The motor chamber is connected to the dust collecting chamber and accommodates a fan and a motor. Through the exhaust port, air from the motor chamber is discharged. The slit portion is disposed in a flow path between the motor chamber and the exhaust port and includes at least one slit-shaped vent through which air from the motor chamber passes. The noise-absorbing member is disposed in at least part of a flow path between the vent and the exhaust port.
