According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a system for controlling an Internet-of-things (IoT) device of a vehicle may include at least one IoT device and a vehicle that determines whether a control condition is satisfied and calculate a first determination value based on the time at which the operation is controlled and the number of times the operation is controlled before or after a state in which the control condition is satisfied, calculates a second determination value based on a number of times the control condition is satisfied and a number of times the at least one IoT device is controlled in the state where the control condition is satisfied, and determines whether to automatically register the at least one IoT device as a control target based on the first determination value and the second determination value when the control condition is satisfied.

SMART SECURITY ASSISTANT FOR RESIDENTIAL AND OFFICE ENVIRONMENTS

Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a mobile assistant device that obtains information regarding device locations of a plurality of devices; the mobile assistant device is enabled to move among at least a portion of the device locations. The mobile assistant device detects an indication of a need for maintenance, repair, and/or user attention, relating to a target device. The mobile assistant device moves to a location of the target device; obtains device information regarding a condition of the target device; and reports the device information to equipment of the user and/or a controller of the mobile assistant device. The mobile assistant device engages with the user and/or equipment of the user to provide instructions to the equipment of the user for resolving an issue relating to the target device, and can physically engage with the target device to resolve the issue. Other embodiments are disclosed.

System and method for using a multicast service to configure a controlling device

A signature comprised of a plurality of data blocks formatted in accordance with a multicast communications protocol is received from a target appliance. When it is determined that one or more of the plurality of data blocks has been populated with user data, a representation of at least a portion of signature is provided to an analytics engine for processing whereby the user data within the one or more of the plurality of data blocks is replaced with a predicted, original data. The predicted, original data is then usable to provision a controlling device with a command code set for use in communicating commands to the target appliance.

Edge component redirect for IoT analytics groups

Disclosed are various examples of providing edge component redirection for IoT analytics groups. In some embodiments, an Internet-of-Things (IoT) analytics group is identified. The IoT analytics group includes an IoT device that communicates through an interface device of a first edge device. A grouping interface policy is generated to specify a bus redirect from the first edge computing device to a second edge computing device. The grouping interface policy is transmitted for implementation using the edge devices.

IoT licensing platform and architecture

Techniques are described for managing licenses of Internet of Things devices. One embodiment includes receiving, at a network management system, a request to allocate a license to a first endpoint device. Real-time device metadata and state data for the first endpoint device are accessed. Embodiments select a license instance, from a plurality of license instances, to allocate to the first endpoint device, based at least in part on the real-time device metadata and state data for the first endpoint device. The selected license instance is assigned to the first endpoint device and at least an indication that a valid license has been assigned to the first endpoint device is transmitted to the first endpoint device.
