A reconfigurable surface cleaning apparatus is provided.

A surface cleaning apparatus having comprises a surface cleaning head having a dirty air inlet; a longitudinally extending upper portion moveably mounted to the surface cleaning head between a storage position and a floor cleaning position, the upper portion comprising first and second longitudinally spaced apart portable surface cleaning unit mounting members; a portable surface cleaning unit removably mounted to the upper portion and comprising an air treatment member and a suction motor; above floor cleaning wand removably mounted in the upper portion and removable when the portable surface cleaning unit is mounted to the upper portion; and, a flexible air flow conduit forming at least part of an air flow path from the above floor cleaning wand to the surface cleaning unit.

A surface cleaning apparatus having a suction hose and a hose storage chamber. The suction hose is adjustable between an extended configuration and a retracted configuration and the suction hose is biased to the extended configuration by a biasing member.

A portable surface cleaning apparatus has a main body, an air treatment member and a handle wherein the dirty air inlet is provided in the front face at a location below the horizontal plane, and wherein the handle overlies a portion of the cyclone chamber and the suction motor

A hand carryable surface cleaning apparatus comprises a body housing a suction motor and comprising a handle. The handle has a handgrip portion that extends upwardly in an upward direction when the surface cleaning apparatus is disposed on a horizontal surface, wherein the handle and a rear surface of the body define a finger gap in which a user may place the user's fingers while gripping the handle. The suction motor is positioned adjacent the rear surface of the body.

A surface cleaning apparatus comprises a hand vacuum cleaner, a surface cleaning head and an air flow conduit extending from the surface cleaning head air outlet to the hand vacuum cleaner air inlet, the air flow conduit comprising a rigid wand and a flexible suction hose positioned downstream of the rigid wand and upstream of the hand vacuum cleaner air inlet.

A supporter and a vacuum cleaner having the same are provided. The supporter includes: a suction channel portion that includes one end removably connected with a vacuum cleaning unit and the other end connected with a suction nozzle, thereby guiding dirt drawn in through the suction nozzle to the vacuum cleaning unit; an accessory that is received in a receiving recess formed on one side of the suction channel portion; a hinge portion that is disposed in the suction channel portion and supports the accessory to pivot by a predetermined angle; and an unlocking portion that is disposed in the suction channel portion to lock and unlock the accessory with respect to the receiving recess.

A vacuum appliance comprising a drum and a vacuum head. The drum may include a base and a cylinder sealed to the base. The vacuum head may include a lid and a blower. The lid preferably includes a portion that is detachably mounted to an open upper end of the drum. The blower may be mounted to, atop, or within the lid. In any case, the blower induces a vacuum within the drum and moves through the vacuum. The base or the cylinder may include a drain to drain fluid and debris contained within the drum. The lid may include a lower portion sealed to and defining the open upper end of the drum. The cylinder or the lid may include an air inlet through which the blower draws air and entrained debris.
