The present invention provides unique portable or stationary hose retraction systems in a single compact unit having an elongated hose, a chamber or plenum for storing the hose, a primary vacuum source for creating suction in the hose, and a secondary vacuum source for retracting the hose into the chamber. Embodiments may include one or more switches located at a distal end of the hose for controlling the primary and secondary vacuum sources. Other embodiments include a movable robotic unit with a proximity generating signal at the distal end of the hose, whereby the robotic unit may withdraw the hose as needed during use, and the secondary vacuum source may retract slack in the hose during use, or may retract the entire hose and the robotic unit after use.

A stability bracket, which may be configured to be attached to a vacuum that has a hose. The stability bracket includes a mating arm defining a flexible region and configured to conform to the vacuum, irrespective of size and/or shape. The stability bracket may be attached via a strap to any size/shape vacuum. The stability bracket includes a bracket arm operatively attached to one side of the mating arm, such that the bracket arm defining a hose gap opposite the attachment side, which is configured to receive the hose into the bracket arm. In some configurations, the bracket arm may be formed integrally with a wheel caster housing operatively attached to a lower housing of the vacuum. This may be referred to as a caster bracket arm, which extends from the wheel caster housing, such that the hose is configured to sit within the caster bracket arm.

Embodiments of the present invention described herein relate to vacuum cleaners. The vacuum cleaners described herein can include a motor, a lid, a collection receptacle, and at least one support member to permit access to the interior of the vacuum cleaner. Also described herein are vacuum cleaners having a motor, a lid, a collection receptacle, and an accessory holder that can be pivotally mounted to the collection receptacle to permit access to the contents thereof.

A vacuum cleaner includes a canister defining a debris chamber, a vacuum hose adapted for fluid connection to the debris chamber, a lid mounted to the canister, and a motor cover mounted to the lid and including at least one hose retainer. The hose retainer includes at least two ribs and a retention portion attached to the ribs. The ribs and the retention portion are spaced from a central portion of the motor cover to define an insertion opening. The ribs and the retention portion deflect away from a retention position in a first direction to an open position when the vacuum hose is inserted through the insertion opening. The ribs and the retention portion are biased in a second direction towards the retention position such that the ribs exert a positive retention force on the vacuum hose when the vacuum hose is positioned within the hose retainer.

An integrated automobile vacuum system for cleaning a vehicle includes a vacuum motor with an intake side and an exhaust side. A power unit is coupled to the vacuum motor and provides power. An intake pipe is coupled to the intake aperture. A mounting plate is coupled to the intake pipe and is configured to attach to an interior wall of the vehicle. The mounting plate has a hose aperture extending through the interior wall and coupled to the intake pipe. A vacuum hose is selectively engageable with the hose aperture of the mounting plate. An exhaust hose has a motor end coupled to the exhaust aperture and a collection end coupled to a collection unit. The collection unit is configured to collect debris sucked through the vacuum motor.

A vacuum that couples to storage units is provided. The vacuum includes a motor, an internal compartment, and an inlet and outlet that provide fluid communication between the internal compartment and an exterior of the vacuum. The vacuum includes one or more mechanisms to protect internal components from water damage and to prevent debris from escaping the internal compartment when the vacuum is being transported.

A vacuum cleaner comprises a housing; a motor fan assembly mounted in the housing; a pivotable inlet nozzle in fluid communication with the motor fan assembly; and a dirt container coupled to the pivotable inlet nozzle and the housing. The pivotable inlet nozzle is pivotable a first operable position whereby the pivotable inlet nozzle is in fluid communication with a flexible hose mounted on the housing and a second operable position whereby the pivotable inlet nozzle projects from the housing and is remote from the flexible hose.

A vacuum cleaner that can quickly be configured in various operating modes, including a standard-style upright vacuum, upright vacuum capable of cleaning under furniture, stick vacuum, handheld vacuum, and pod vacuum. An example embodiment is a surface cleaning apparatus that includes an elongated support member, a handle coupled to an upper end of the elongated support member, a vacuum module slidably and detachably coupled to the elongated support member, and a hose coupled to the vacuum module and expandable to accommodate lower and upper positions of the vacuum module along the elongated support member. The surface cleaning apparatus can further include a floor nozzle detachably coupled to a lower end of the elongated support member and the hose.

A vacuum cleaner, which is a portable vacuum cleaner, including a tank body, a head portion disposed above the tank body, and a battery connection portion that is disposed at the head portion and is capable of connecting to a battery. A part of an upper end portion of the tank body has a bent shape or a curved shape, and the rest part of the upper end portion of the tank body has a shape neither bending inward nor curved inward. The vacuum cleaner may further include a battery connection portion disposed at the head portion and a brushless motor disposed at the head portion. A suction hose connecting piece for a suction hose for producing a flow connection from a machine tool to a vacuum cleaner, the connecting piece including a tubular body with a circumferential wall that delimits a flow channel, and a plug section which is arranged on the tubular body for the purpose of producing a plug connection with a mating connecting piece, it being possible to plug the connecting piece and mating connecting piece one onto the other along a longitudinal axis of the plug section, a longitudinal latch contour being arranged on the plug section, counteracting release of the mating connecting piece from the connecting piece relative to the longitudinal axis, and engaging with a longitudinal mating latch contour of the mating connecting piece when the mating connecting piece is plugged onto the connecting piece, along the longitudinal axis of the plug section.
