Transport arrangement
A transport arrangement having an inner container, preferably having at least one apron projecting beyond an end face of the inner container, an outer container, which receives the inner container, and a twist prevention device, by means of which the containers can be locked together to prevent them from twisting about their longitudinal axes. The twist prevention device has a locking element that is axially adjustable in a first receptacle, a second receptacle that rotatably receives the first receptacle and is fixedly connected to one of the containers, and a handle that extends from the first receptacle and is radially guided by the second receptacle, the pivoting movement of said handle being convertible via the first receptacle into the axial adjustment of the locking element for engagement in the other container or disengagement therefrom.
APPARATUS FOR STORING AND/OR TRANSPORTING RADIOACTIVE MATERIALS
A ventilated apparatus for storing and/or transporting high level radioactive waste. In one aspect, the invention is a ventilated apparatus comprising: an overpack body having an inner surface forming a cavity about a longitudinal axis. A bottom portion of the overpack body is formed by a plurality of segments. Each of the segments extends from a first end wall having a projection to a second end wall having a channel. The segments circumferentially surround a longitudinal axis and are arranged in an intermeshing and spaced-apart configuration such that the projections of the first end walls of the segments project into the channels of the second end walls of adjacent ones of the segments, thereby forming inlet ducts between adjacent ones of the segments. The inlet ducts form air inlet passageways from the external atmosphere to a bottom portion of the cavity.

CONTAINMENT CASK FOR DRUM CONTAINING RADIOACTIVE HAZARDOUS WASTE
A containment cask for safely transporting and storing radioactive hazardous waste in a dry air environment. The cask comprises a single drum containing the radioactive hazardous waste, a sealed and shielded containment vessel containing the drum, and an outer container. The outer container can be in the form of an outer shield vessel (OSV) made from iron to provide further shielding. This outer container is appropriate for a drum having higher activity waste. The outer container can also be in the form of an overpack assembly that adds protection for atmospheric hazards, but adds little in terms of shielding. This outer container is appropriate for a drum having lower activity waste.
Package comprising improved means of dampening impact between an assembly containing radioactive materials and the cover of the packaging
The invention relates to a package comprising a packaging for storing and/or transporting radioactive materials and an assembly containing radioactive materials (16) housed in a cavity of the packaging closed by a cover (6), the package comprising a system for dampening impact of the assembly against the cover (6), the system comprising at least one deformable dampening device (42) and a loading device (26) of the deformable dampening device. According to the invention, one of the devices (42) is mounted moveable on the cover (6) in a plane orthogonal to the axis (8) of the packaging, and has means (50) of self-centering relatively to the other of the devices (26), provided on the assembly containing the radioactive materials (16).

Assembly including a package for transport of radioactive materials and a package support frame
An assembly (100) including a package for transport of radioactive materials (1) and a package support frame (3), wherein the frame includes: a first portion (14); a second portion (16) which is rigidly attached to the package, wherein the package and this second portion form an entity (18), wherein the first portion and the second portion of the frame (14, 16) are connected to one another by one or more mechanical fusible elements (30) to hold one relative to the other in a first direction of superposition (12) of the package on its frame. The assembly is also configured so that if the assembly falls in the direction (12) with the first portion (14) of the frame pointing forwards, this causes a rupture of the fusible elements (30) allowing a movement of the entity (18) relative to the first portion (14) in direction (12).
