An outdoor surface treating apparatus having a body having a handle and a head arranged to be removably connected with an accessory tool assembly. The head includes a first engagement arrangement for releasably engaging with a second engagement arrangement in the accessory tool assembly. A drive unit, arranged in the head, includes a first coupling member for drivingly coupling with a second coupling member in the accessory tool assembly. The first engagement arrangement is fixed. The second engagement arrangement is movable between an extended position and a retracted position. The accessory tool assembly includes a biasing element for biasing the second engagement arrangement into the extended position. As the accessory tool assembly is aligned with the head, in particular when the first engagement arrangement is aligned with the second engagement arrangement, and is moved along a movement axis into engagement with the head, the second engagement arrangement first moves over the first engagement arrangement against the bias then returns to the extended position and locks with the first engagement arrangement while the first coupling member couples with the second coupling member.

A first end of the flexible hose may be coupled to the vacuum pod body and a second end of the flexible hose may be coupled to the coupling. When the coupling is coupled to the vacuum pod body, the flexible hose may be in the retracted position.

An intelligent vacuum device is provided. A main body of the vacuum device has a dust bin and a main vacuum port formed on a bottom side thereof and communicated with the dust bin. An extendable suction arm is switchable relative to the main body between a first position and at least one second position. The extendable suction arm has at least one actuator and at least one arm vacuum port thereon, and the arm vacuum port is communicated with the dust bin. At least one detection sensor is disposed on the main body to detect a surrounding environment of the vacuum device and generate corresponding sensing signals. A controller is used to control movement of the vacuum device based on the sensing signals, and control the at least one actuator to switch the extendable suction arm between the first position and the at least one second position.

A central vacuum cleaning system having a floor level debris pickup valve preferably mounted in the bottom of a cabinet and connected to a tubular conduit of a vacuum producing unit by a connection assembly. The connection assembly includes a flexible and expandable hose having a pair of end connectors. Each end connector preferably is a bayonet connector. The hose is connected at one end to the rigid tubular conduit of the central vacuum system and the other end connector is pulled through an opening formed in the cabinet by expanding the hose. The expandable hose enables the pickup valve to be attached easily to the other end of the hose, after which the hose is retracted back into a restricted space below the cabinet bottom wall and the pickup valve then attached to the cabinet.
