Measurement of Fluid Flow Velocity With High Spatial and Temporal Resolution
The present disclosure provides methods and systems for successfully and accurately measuring the flow velocity, velocity fluctuation and velocity profile of flows of fluids with unprecedented resolution.
Flow sensor module and controller
A flow sensor module employs a fitting which defines an offset sensor bypass which is disposed at an acute angle to a linear flow path through the fitting. A dynamic pressure or flow sensor is disposed in the sensor bypass. A bonnet assembly is removably mounted to the fitting and mounts the sensor and fluidly seals the sensor in the fitting. A solid state controller has a panel which indicates a number of operational conditions including whether there is fluid flow through the flow system. The panel may have a chemical feed pump default indicator, a control valve indicator and an air trap device indicator and, in one embodiment, a manual override switch to turn on a feed pump, a control valve, an air trap device or an electrically operated device.
Method for determining a mass flow composed of bulk material
A method for determining a mass flow composed of bulk material, in particular grain, which is conveyed by means of a continuous, circulating conveyor, having planar conveyor elements, from a lower bulk material receiving area to a higher bulk material delivery area, in which the bulk material delivered by the conveyor is deflected by a guide surface disposed in the bulk material delivery area toward a measuring device, wherein the mass flow is determined by the measurement of a resulting force (F_G) exerted on a sensor surface of the measuring device, wherein at least two parameters having an effect on the force measurement, in particular parameters independent of bulk material properties, are compensated for. A control and regulating device for executing the method for determining a mass flow composed of bulk material is also provided.
Fluid momentum detection method and related apparatus
A method is provided for determining fluid momentum through one or more conduits. The method comprises the step of receiving an elongation signal from an elongation sensor indicating an elongation of the one or more conduits due to the flowing fluid. A momentum term is then calculated.
APPARATUS INCORPORATING STRAIN SENSOR FOR DETERMINING RELATIVE VELOCITY, FLOW, OR ATTACK ANGLE BETWEEN A FLUID AND A BODY
An apparatus including at least one deflecting element and at least one strain sensor is configured for determining relative velocity, fluid flow, or angle of attack between a fluid and a body having a fluid-contacting surface and an opposing non-fluid-contacting surface. The deflecting element is joined to the body and extends from the fluid-contacting surface into the fluid, while the strain sensor is coupled to the non-fluid-contacting surface and is configured to detect strain imparted on the body by deflection of the at least one deflecting element. An output signal of the at least one strain sensor permits calculation of at least one of relative velocity, fluid flow, or angle of attack between the fluid and the body. By measuring deflection of a surface of the body, the at least one strain sensor may be mounted on or along the non-fluid-contacting surface where the environment is controllable, such that the sensor is not subject to deleterious environmental effects.
Measuring device for measuring a mass flow composed of bulk material
A measuring device is provided for measuring a mass flow composed of bulk material, in particular grain, in a continuous, circulating conveyor enclosed in part by a housing, having planar conveyor elements, which conveys the bulk material from a lower bulk material receiving area to a higher bulk material delivery area. A substantially circular movement course is imposed on the bulk material delivered by the respective conveyor element in a substantially radial direction of an inner surface of a cover section of the housing by a guide surface formed in the upper region of the conveyor. The bulk material is deflectable toward a sensor surface of the measuring device. At least the sensor surface of the measuring device is disposed in the upper region of the conveyor such that there is a tangential course in the transition from the guide surface to the sensor surface.
WIND NOISE ANALYZER AND WIND NOISE ANALYSIS METHOD
A wind noise analyzer includes: an unsteady computational fluid dynamics calculation unit configured to execute an unsteady computational fluid dynamics simulation involving moving a structure model modeled on a structure, and calculate, for each of spatial nodes, an average flow velocity and an average vorticity over a predetermined time in a flow field inside the predetermined region, and then calculate, for each of the spatial nodes, a value based on an amplitude of a turbulent flow velocity inside the predetermined region, in an angular frequency band of interest; and a pressure source density calculation unit configured to calculate, based on the average flow velocity, the average vorticity, and the value based on the amplitude of the turbulent flow velocity, a pressure source density.
CARBON DIOXIDE MULTIPHASE FLOW MEASUREMENT BASED ON DIELECTRIC PERMITTIVITY
Methods and apparatus for determining mass flow rate of a CO.sub.2 rich stream using dielectric permittivity are described. A method herein measures a dielectric permittivity of a CO.sub.2 rich stream; determines a density of the CO.sub.2 rich stream from the measured dielectric permittivity; determines a viscosity of the CO.sub.2 rich stream from the measured dielectric permittivity; measures a pressure drop of the CO.sub.2 rich stream flowing through a flow restriction; and determines mass flow rate of the CO.sub.2 rich stream using the measured pressure drop, the determined density, and the determined viscosity.
MATERIAL FLOW MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD
A dry-particulate monitoring system for a machine that distributes dry-particulate to the ground by metering product into a flowing airstream. The airstream is diverted into several tubes mounted on booms covering some horizontal distance. At the end of each tube is a deflector designed to direct the flow of material to a desired location with a particular coverage. An acoustic-based sensor of the preferred embodiment is placed on each deflector to detect material flowing through each tube or pipe or against the deflector. The information that is gathered from the sensors is sent to the dry-particulate spreader operator, who is able to view the real time operation of the dry-particulate flow. The system may be capable of detecting presence or absence of flow (i.e., blockage), or may detect variance of flow in individual pipes over time, or variances of flow between different pipes.
CLOG DETECTION IN A MULTI-PORT FLUID DELIVERY SYSTEM
Embodiments of the present disclosure provide for apparatus used to detect clogs in a fluid delivery system during CMP processes and methods of detecting clogs in a fluid delivery system during CMP processes. In particular, embodiments herein provide a flow splitter manifold configured to enable monitoring of the pressure of the polishing fluid disposed therein. Monitoring the fluid pressure in the flow splitter manifold enables the detection of clogs in the delivery lines and/or dispense nozzles that inhibit and/or prevent the flow of polishing fluid therethrough or therefrom.
