A flow rate sensor includes a sensing portion and a resin seal. The sensing portion includes a thin portion and an exposed portion. The thin portion has a smaller thickness as compared to other portions of the sensing portion. The exposed portion is exposed on the resin seal when the resin seal seals the sensing portion and includes a specified area corresponding to the thin portion and a peripheral area corresponding to an outer periphery of the thin portion. The sensing portion includes a recessed portion in a portion corresponding to the peripheral area. The recessed portion surrounds the thin portion and is recessed from the peripheral area toward the second surface. The sensing portion detects a flow rate of a fluid flowing along the thin portion.

FLEXIBLE MAGNETIC-BASED FLOW METER AND METHOD FOR MAKING A FLEXIBLE FLOW METER

A flexible magnetic assembly based flow rate measurement device or flow meter, and method of sensing flow rate of a fluid using a flow rate measurement device are disclosed. The device comprises three separable chambers such as, a basal chamber, a mid-chamber and a top chamber. The basal chamber with an inlet and an outlet, is incorporated with a main sensitive component i.e. flexible magnetic assembly along flow path of a fluid that enter from the inlet and exit from the outlet of the basal chamber. The mid-chamber comprises a magnetic sensor, placed over the flexible magnetic assembly is configured to sense the changes in magnetization value. The top chamber comprises a processor and a display unit, is configured to process, convert and display the magnetization value. Further, a method of fabricating flexible magnetic assembly for a flow rate measurement device is also disclosed.

An example alternating magnetic field flowmeter includes a magnetic token movable within a conduit for guiding a fluid flow (conductive or non-conductive) along a flow path, a magnetic field generator configured to generate alternating magnetic fields within the conduit to move the magnetic token along the flow path with a first flow velocity and opposite to the flow path with a second flow velocity, a detector configured to measure respective first and second electrical signals responsive to the alternating magnetic fields, the first and second electrical signals associated with the first and second flow velocities, and a processor configured to determine a flow rate of the fluid based on the first and second electrical signals. The alternating magnetic field flowmeter can include a calibrator configured to manually or automatically calibrate the flow rate with a correction factor.

A fluid sensor includes a core defining a fluid flow path, a confinement member located externally of the core, and a patch antenna located between the fluid flow path and the confinement member. The confinement member is configured to confine an electromagnetic field which extends into the fluid flow path. The patch antenna is configured to couple an electrical signal to and/or from the electromagnetic field. The fluid sensor may be configured for measuring the composition and/or flow rate of a fluid and, in particular but not exclusively, for measuring the composition and/or flow rate of mixtures of oil, water and gas.

The sensing coil is adhered to and spread on the surface of the sensing membrane, and the controlling coil is adhered to and spread on the surface of the controlling membrane. The magnetic unit is disposed at a spaced interval from the sensing membrane and the controlling membrane. With the sensing membrane and the controlling membrane, the sensing and controlling module is capable of sensing and controlling airflow rate.
