Insertion magnetic meters and methods
A magnetic insertion meter is disclosed herein. Disclosed insertion meters include in some examples, a sensor head tube cylinder having a textured front surface and at least two electrodes. Disclosed insertion meters include a textured front surface adapted to move the separation point of a fluid flowing over the sensor head tube towards the upstream surface as compared to the same sensor head tube without the textured front surface. Methods of measuring flow are also disclosed herein using example magnetic insertion meters.
Method for Determining a Conductivity, Operating Method of a Magnetic-Inductive Flowmeter and Magnetic-Inductive Flowmeter
A method for determining conductivity of a medium includes: generating a signal with first and second frequencies; feeding the signal to first and second electrodes; determining a first voltage between the first and second electrodes, a first current through the medium for the first frequency, and a first impedance from the first voltage and first current; determining a second voltage between the first and second electrodes, a second current through the medium for the second frequency, and a second impedance from the second voltage and second current; determining and comparing phases of the first and second impedances; determining a medium resistance with a first formula when the first impedance phase is smaller than the second impedance phase; determining a medium resistance with a second formula when the first impedance phase is equal to or greater than the second impedance phase; and determining conductivity of the medium using the medium resistance.
Magnetic flowmeter composite flow tube liner
A composite flow tube liner includes a cylindrical substrate and an interior layer. The cylindrical substrate includes a plurality of perforations and is configured for installation within a flow tube assembly of a magnetic flowmeter. The interior layer includes a fluoroelastomer and covers an interior surface of the substrate. The interior layer extends into the perforations of the cylindrical substrate, which secures the fluoroelastomer to the cylindrical substrate.

Disclosed is a magnetically inductive flowmeter comprising: a measuring tube; a magnet system having a coil system comprising a coil and a coil core within the coil, wherein the magnet system produces a magnetic field perpendicular to the measuring tube; at least two measuring electrodes for sensing an electrical voltage induced in the medium; and a field guide to guide the magnetic field between a side of the coil far from the measuring tube and a side of the measuring tube far from the coil, wherein the magnet system has a pole shoe to lead the magnetic field between the measuring tube and the field guide, wherein the pole shoe has a folded sheet metal piece, the field guide has a folded sheet metal piece, and the pole shoe and the field guide are magnetically and mechanically in contact in an interior of the first coil.

A magnetically-inductive flow-measuring device, with a measuring tube for guiding an electrically-conductive medium, with a coil for generating a magnetic field that at least partially runs through the measuring tube and with a magnetic circuit device for guiding the magnetic field outside of the measuring tube, the magnetic circuit device has at least one coil core, a first yoke element, a second yoke element, a first pole piece and a second pole piece, the coil core is arranged inside the coil and the measuring tube is arranged between the first pole piece and the second pole piece. To provide a magnetically-inductive flow-measuring device with a magnetic circuit device, the magnetic circuit device is made from an at least partially bent sheet element or from multiple at least partially bent sheet elements.

A composite flow tube liner includes a cylindrical substrate and an interior layer. Multiphase flowmeter aperture antenna transmission and pressure retention are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes at least one radiating element to transmit or receive an electromagnetic signal along a measurement plane orthogonal to a direction of flow of the fluid in the vessel; a pressure retaining member to prevent fluid from entering the aperture antenna assembly through a measurement window of the aperture antenna assembly, at least a portion of the pressure retaining member to separate the radiating element and the fluid; and a metal housing with or without slits, the pressure retaining member to be at least partially within the metal housing, the radiating element to be coupled to the metal housing.

Disclosed is a magnetically inductive flow measuring probe for determining flow rate and/or flow velocity of a medium, which includes a front part with a front end having a center, a housing, a magnetic field producing means arranged in the housing for producing a magnetic field passing through the front end, and a measuring- and evaluation unit, and characterized in that there are arranged on the front end and forming galvanic contact with the medium three measuring electrodes, which form three measuring electrode pairs, and in that the measuring- and evaluation unit is adapted to register induced measured voltages between at least two measuring electrode pairs, especially three measuring electrode pairs, and to ascertain flow rate and/or flow velocity of the medium as a function of the registered voltages.
Magnetic-inductive flowmeter having a conductivity measuring device and method for operating a magnetic-inductive flowmeter having a conductivity measuring device
A magnetic-inductive flowmeter having a measuring tube for guiding a conductive medium, having a magnetic field generator for generating a magnetic field passing through the measuring tube at least partially perpendicular to the medium flow direction, electrodes for tapping a measuring voltage induced in the medium and a conductivity measuring device for determining the conductivity of the medium. The conductivity measuring device has a measuring circuit with the electrodes, a voltage source and a measuring unit. In operation, the voltage source generates a voltage and the measuring unit measures the actual electrode voltage applied between the electrodes. The control unit sets the actual electrode voltage to a predetermined constant setpoint value and the evaluation unit determines the electrode current flowing between the electrodes and calculates the conductivity value of the medium or a variable related to the conductivity using the determined electrode current and the actual electrode voltage.

The conduit is for conducting the fluid. The system includes a driver coupled to the conduit. The driver is configured for inducing an oscillation in the conduit. The system includes two or more accelerometers coupled to the conduit. The two or more accelerometers are configured for measuring displacement of the conduit. The system includes an electrical permittivity sensor coupled to the conduit. The electrical permittivity sensor is configured for measuring electrical permittivity of the fluid.
