11906347 · 2024-02-20 ·

A configurable-width industrial weighing scale configured to hang directly from one of multiple engine-powered lifting machines and/or to couple to a quick-attach plate or other attachment means of an engine-powered lifting machine and configured to directly support a lifting element and/or couple to a quick-attach plate or other attachment means of a lifting element. A weighing element includes front and rear plates in parallel with one another and a weighing assembly therebetween. The weighing assembly may include a strain gauge-based load cell, a shock absorber, a mechanical preload adjustment to control a vertical difference between the front and rear plates, a mechanical linearity control to adjust an angle of the weighing assembly, a carriage alignment bolt to compensate for an uneven surface of a lifting carriage of the engine-powered lifting machine, and/or a mechanical adjustment to compensate for a distance between the front plate and a load.

Strain gauge span block for a drilling rig

A system includes a span block configured to couple with an extension from a top drive at a first end of the span block and configured to couple to a tubular at a second end of the span block. The system also includes a sensor block of the span block. The sensor block extends between the first end and the second end of the span block. Moreover, the sensor block is configured to provide an electronic indication of deformation of a portion of the sensor block in response to forces placed on the span block.

Bed based weight sensors for physiological analysis

A weight sensor may include a weighing platform and a load cell coupled to the platform to sense a weight applied to the platform, the load cell may include a deformable plate with one or more strain gauges arranged to provide an electrical signal representing the weight applied to the platform, and a base supporting the load cell, wherein the deformable plate is movably mounted to the base at only three contact points, the contact points allowing lateral movement of the plate when the plate deforms in response to a weight applied to the platform. The weight sensor makes it possible to monitor the weight and weight shifting of two people sharing the bed. The weight sensor is self-centering when a load is applied off-center to the platform, which is beneficial when used underneath a bed, e.g., under a bed leg or other support member which may not be aligned.

PLATFORM LOAD SENSING SYSTEM

A platform load sensing system connected between a boom and a platform includes an upper bearing link connecting the boom side to the platform side, and a lower bearing link connecting the boom side to the platform side. The upper and lower bearing links are configured to allow for relative motion between the boom side and the platform side. A load member is secured to the platform side between the upper and lower bearing links, and a load cell is secured to the boom side. A load moment on the platform side is functionally eliminated by the upper and lower bearing links, and a vertical load on the platform side is transferred through the load member to the load cell.

Thin weighing scale with a sandwich structure

A thin weighing scale having a thickness of less than 25 mm, comprising a first rigid bottom plate, extending along a reference plane defined by a first direction and a second direction, a second rigid top plate, at least four load cells 4, interposed between the first and second rigid plates, a set of linkages comprising arms, some arms extend in the first direction and some other arms extend in the second direction, each arm having an elongated shape with a first end attached to the first rigid plate and a second end rigidly connected to the second rigid plate, whereby a movement is provided along a third direction, the set of linkages preventing relative movement between first and second rigid plates along the first and second direction.

Self-balancing electric vehicle with strain-based controls

A self-balancing electric vehicle may include an elongate platform having a first foot placement section and a second foot placement section rigidly coupled to each other, a first and second wheel being respectively coupled to opposite ends of the platform. Rider presence and turning intentions may be determined based on strain induced in the platform by the rider. The strain may be detected by one or more strain gauge systems. One of the strain gauge systems may be configured for use in a steering control circuit, and may include a strain gauge sensor mounted diagonally with respect to a long axis of the platform, such that the strain gauge detects only twist-induced strain.

System and Method for Real-Time Management of Liquid Bottles Content in a Bar or the Like

A system and method for real-time management of liquid bottles contents in a restauration establishment includes a controller and at least one bottle support base coupled to the controller. Each bottle support base includes a bottle-receiving surface, a first sensor that produces a first signal indicative of a weight of a bottle deposited on the surface; a second sensor for reading an identification element on the bottle and for producing a second signal indicative thereof; and a transmitter for transmitting to the controller data indicative of the first and second signal. The controller implements numerous functionalities that are derived from its assessment of the volumes of alcohol in the bottles using the data received from the support bases.

Analog sensor with digital compensation function

An analog sensor with digital compensation function includes a deformation part generating a deformation relating to a pressure sensed by the analog sensor; a strain gauge connected to the deformation part and generating a change in resistance relating to the deformation; a strain gauge bridge connected to the strain gauge and transferring the change in the resistance of the at least one strain gauge to output a first analog signal; and an analog-to-digital conversion module converting the first analog signal to a first digital signal, representative of weight. A signal processing and output circuit compensates the first digital signal and converts it into a second analog signal.
