SURFACE CLEANING APPARATUS AND TRAY

A surface cleaning apparatus adapted for movement across a surface to be cleaned. The surface cleaning apparatus can dock within a storage tray and charge a power supply. Electrical contacts on the surface cleaning apparatus and the storage tray can be shielded when the surface cleaning apparatus is not docked within the storage tray. Furthermore, the storage tray can include a reservoir for a self-cleaning mode.

Nozzle for cleaner

A nozzle for a cleaner has a nozzle housing, and first and second rotation cleaning units arranged on a lower side of the nozzle housing and spaced apart from each other. Each of the first and second rotation cleaning units includes a rotation plate coupled to a mop. The nozzle includes a first driving device having a first driving motor to drive the first rotation cleaning unit and a second driving device having a second driving motor to drive the second rotation cleaning unit. Further, the nozzle has a water tank mounted on the nozzle housing to store water. The nozzle housing includes driving unit covers arranged to surround each of the driving devices. At least one of the driving unit covers includes a first protruding surface, and a second protruding surface positioned higher than the first protruding surface.

The floor cleaner further including an upright portion movable between an inclined use position and an upright storage position. The brushroll is powered by a brushroll motor. The brushroll motor includes a control circuit that controls the brushroll. The control circuit has a first switch that is open when the floor cleaner is in the upright position and closed when the floor cleaner is in the inclined use position. The second switch is in parallel with the first switch. The second switch is opened in response to the portion of the base being removed from the cleaning tray and the second switch is closed when the portion of the base is in the cleaning tray.

The upright extractor is operable in a floor cleaning mode in which the handle is a driving handle of the upright extractor. The upright extractor is also operable in an above floor cleaning mode in which the inlet end of the wand is disconnected from fluid flow communication with the surface cleaning head dirty fluid inlet and an above floor air flow path extends from the inlet end of the wand to the clean air outlet and the liquid separator and the suction motor are provided in the above floor cleaning air flow path.

A cover that includes a suction air outlet in fluid communication with a vacuum source. An inlet duct extends upwardly from the lower end wall. The recover tank includes a shutoff float including a float body and a closure. The float body is configured to float on a surface of cleaning fluid and the closure is received in the suction air outlet to close the suction air outlet. The float body moves along the inlet duct as the float body floats on the surface of the cleaning fluid. The float body includes an aperture extending through the float body and the inlet duct extends through the aperture of the float body.
