LASER LIGHTING MODULE WITH SAFETY FUNCTION
A laser lighting module for a vehicle headlight includes at least one laser, a scanning arrangement, a light conversion device, a safety mirror, a safety detector and a safety controller. The laser emits light in a first wavelength range and the scanning arrangement moves a beam of the light within a scanning solid angle so a spot of the light moves across the light conversion device. The light conversion device converts a fraction of the light to converted light in a different wavelength range than the first and emits a mixture of transmitted and converted light. The safety mirror is arranged within the scanning solid angle such that at least 90% of the transmitted light hits the safety mirror. The safety controller receives the control signal, generated by the safety detector from the safety detection light, and switches off the laser if the control signal exceeds a first threshold value.
ULTRAVIOLET FLAME SENSOR WITH PROGRAMMABLE SENSITIVITY OFFSET
A programmable controller for controlling an ultraviolet (UV) sensor may adjust an excitation voltage provided to the UV sensor based at least in part on a programmable sensitivity offset in order to produce an excitation voltage that results in a desired UV sensitivity for the UV sensor. The programmable sensitivity offset may be set for the UV sensor at the factory, set during commissioning of the UV sensor in the field, and/or automatically altered over time to help compensate for a degradation in sensitivity of the UV sensor.
Data output device
A data output device is provided. The data output device includes a converter circuit configured to generate a conversion signal based on an output signal; a boosting circuit configured to generate a boosting signal based on the output signal; and an output circuit configured to generate the output signal based on an input signal and a feedback signal, the feedback signal being based on the conversion signal and the boosting signal.
Ultraviolet measurement system
An ultraviolet measurement system includes a measurement device that is configured to be portable by a user, and measures ultraviolet information regarding an ultraviolet ray, and a display device that can perform communication with the measurement device, in which one of the measurement device and the display device includes a position acquisition unit that acquires position information indicating a position of either of the user and the measurement device, and a storage unit that stores the ultraviolet information measured by the measurement device in correlation with measurement position information which is position information of when the ultraviolet information is measured by the measurement device among pieces of position information acquired by the position acquisition unit, and in which the display device displays information based on the ultraviolet information and the measurement position information.
Electromagnetic power measurement and reporting
A method to measure and report electromagnetic radiation power includes receiving electromagnetic radiation and generating an electrical signal having a magnitude based on the power of the electromagnetic radiation. An adjustable gain may be applied to the electrical signal to generate an amplified electrical signal that may be sampled to generate a digital sample. The adjustable gain may be controlled based on the value of the digital sample and the digital sample may be associated with a gain value. One or more calibration factors may be selected based on the gain value associated with the digital sample and the selected calibration factor(s) may be used to calculate the power of the electromagnetic radiation.

DEGRADATION DETECTION FOR A PULSED LASER
A device may determine at least one metric related to a plurality of laser pulses associated with a Q-switched laser. The device may determine a statistical metric for the at least one metric related to the plurality of laser pulses. The device may determine that the statistical metric satisfies a threshold level of deviation of the at least one metric related to the plurality of laser pulses from a baseline value for the at least one metric. The device may indicate laser degradation of the Q-switched laser based on determining that the statistical metric satisfies the threshold.
OPTICAL APPARATUS, ON-BOARD SYSTEM, MOVABLE APPARATUS, CONTROL METHOD OF OPTICAL APPARATUS, AND STORAGE MEDIUM
An optical apparatus includes a first light receiving unit including a first avalanche photodiode, a second light receiving unit including a second avalanche photodiode whose light receiving surface is shielded from light, and a voltage control unit configured to apply a first reverse bias voltage to the first avalanche photodiode and a second reverse bias voltage to the second avalanche photodiode. The voltage control unit controls the first reverse bias voltage based on the second reverse bias voltage.
