Transfer of a calibration model using a sparse transfer set
A device may obtain a master calibration set, associated with a master calibration model of a master instrument, that includes spectra, associated with a set of samples, generated by the master instrument. The device may identify a selected set of master calibrants based on the master calibration set. The device may obtain a selected set of target calibrants that includes spectra, associated with the subset of the set of samples, generated by the target instrument. The device may create a transfer set based on the selected set of master calibrants and the selected set of target calibrants. The device may create a target calibration set, corresponding to the master calibration set, based on the transfer set. The device may generate, using an optimization technique associated with the transfer set and a support vector regression modeling technique, a transferred calibration model, for the target instrument, based on the target calibration set.
Spectroscopic characterization of seafood
A method and apparatus for field spectroscopic characterization of seafood is disclosed. A portable NIR spectrometer is connected to an analyzer configured for performing a multivariate analysis of reflection spectra to determine qualitatively the true identities or quantitatively the freshness of seafood samples.
Carbon fiber classification using raman spectroscopy
Carbon fiber characterization processes are described that include multi-condition Raman spectroscopy-based examination combined with multivariate data analyses. Methods are a nondestructive material characterization approach that can provide predictions as to carbon fiber bulk physical properties, as well as identification of unknown carbon fiber materials for quality control purposes. The framework of the multivariate analysis methods includes a principal component-based identification protocol including comparison of Raman spectral data from an unknown carbon fiber with a data library of multiple principal component spaces.
SPECTRAL PROPERTIES-BASED SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FEEDING MASTERBATCHES INTO A PLASTIC PROCESSING MACHINE
Disclosed is a system for optimizing a match between the color of an in-line part manufactured by a plastic product production machine and the color of a reference part by adjusting the concentration of masterbatch in the mixture of raw material fed to the plastic product production machine. The optimization of the color is based on interlaced spectra of the in-line part and reference part obtained using the same spectrometer, thereby eliminating the requirement for high accuracy spectrometer calibration and allowing a controller of the system to determine the rates at which the base masterbatches are added to the raw material in real time on the manufacturing floor while the plastic product production machine is being operated to manufacture in-line parts.
OPTICAL SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD AND APPARATUS
An optical signal processing apparatus may acquire a plurality of image signals using an optical signal output from a light source toward a target, and may determine a characteristic of a target by using the obtained plurality of image signals. The obtained image signal may be obtained from a plurality of sensor arrays including a plurality of image sensors.
Handheld Gas and Vapor Analyzer
A gas and vapor analyzer system and method of detecting a gas or vapor sample are provided. An FTIR spectroscopy system of an analyzer system comprises an interferometer adapted to modulate an excitation signal. A gas cell is adapted to receive the modulated excitation signal and focus the modulated excitation signal within the gas cell via an input lens. An off-axis multiple reflection geometry is adapted to receive the focused modulated excitation signal and pass the focused modulated excitation signal through a gas or vapor phase specimen via a plurality of beam paths skewed relative to a longitudinal axis of the cell to generate an optical sample signal. An exit lens is adapted to direct the optical sample signal from the gas cell to an IR radiation detector, and a controller is adapted to identify a detected gas and vapor sample based on the optical sample signal.
Compact spectral analyzer
Aspects relate to a spectral analyzer that can be used for biological sample detection. The spectral analyzer includes an optical window configured to receive a sample and a spectral sensor including a chassis having various component assembled thereon. Examples of components may include a light source, a light modulator, illumination and collection optical elements, a detector, and a processor. The spectral analyzer is configured to obtain spectral data representative of a spectrum of the sample using, for example, an artificial intelligence (AI) engine. The spectral analyzer further includes a thermal separator positioned between the light modulator and the light source.
A DEVICE FOR DETECTING HEALTH DISORDERS FROM BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES AND A DETECTION PROCESS
The present invention relates to instruments and processes for detecting compounds in gas samples. In particular, for detecting health disorders from biological samples, more preferably for detecting diseases from breath samples of a mammal. It is included among the methods and instruments for the diagnosis of COVID-19.
Spectroscopic device and method for sample characterization
The invention relates to a characterization device (50) for characterizing a sample (S) comprising: a memory (MEM) storing a measured spectrum (A.sub.s+p) of said sample, performed through a translucent material, and a measured spectrum of the translucent material (A.sub.p), a processing unit (PU) configured to: determine a spectral energy (E.sub.s+p) of the measured spectrum (A.sub.s+p) of the sample through the translucent material (A.sub.s+p), estimate a coefficient ({circumflex over ()}) from said spectral energy (E.sub.s+p) and, determine a corrected spectrum (.sub.s) of the sample from the measured spectrum (A.sub.s+p) of the sample through the translucent material and from a corrected spectrum of the translucent material (.sub.p),
said corrected spectrum of the translucent material (.sub.p) being determined from the measured spectrum of the translucent material (A.sub.p) and from the estimated coefficient ({circumflex over ()}).
Multispectral or Hyperspectral Imaging and Imaging System Based on Birefringent Subwavelength Resonating Structure
An angle-stable, miniaturized and integrate-able imaging system based on plasmon resonances or dielectric resonances for multispectral imaging maintaining full spatial resolution of the image sensor. Active tunability of the filter allows color recording, estimation of unknown spectra and determination of spectral singularities, for example laser lines, with the use of a conventional B/W camera. The system is characterized by high angular acceptance, cost-efficient fabrication and ease-of-use. This system can be used in conjunction with other commercial multispectral imaging systems such as RGB cameras to further enhance the spectral resolution. It can be adapted to different spectral ranges, depending on the application.
