Described herein are components, systems, and methods of use of an integrated sterilization system comprising a pass-through logistics cabinet, an ozone sterilization system, a floor sterilization robot, and systems for controlling such components. An integrated operating room sterilization system will allow mitigation or elimination of risks (e.g., infrastructural risks (e.g., OI risks), procedural risks (e.g., risk of infection and contamination) that are associated with a setting in a healthcare environment. The elimination of clutter, control of major components under a unified and intuitive user interface, and the logical elimination of potential accumulated risk events (e.g., OI risks) and procedural risks are deliberately addressed, in whole or in part, by the present disclosure. The present disclosure describes the following: a pass-through logistics cabinet, an ozone sterilization system, a floor sterilization robot, and systems for controlling such components.

MOBILE ROBOT

The improved mobile robot utilizes a cooperative wheeled support arrangement having a unique axle design that preferably cooperates with a base support module. A tri-axle is preferably used to support at least one omni-wheel on each axle section. Multiple omni-wheels on each section can be used for higher load applications. The tri-axle is of a fixed design and each wheel pivots on the individual axle section. Preferably, the axle sections are welded to each other.

The use of cylindrical airflow outlets promotes laminar airflow by reducing sharp boundaries that induce turbulence (e.g., the corners of rectangular or square outlets) and creates a highly sterile environment around the patient and staff in the operating room. The surgical lights used in the integrated air and lighting plenum allow the beam direction, spot size, focal point, brightness, and color temperature of the emitted light to be controlled.

A compact, portable, low cost ultraviolet (UV) light source apparatus irradiates select or target surfacing for disinfecting or sanitizing the target surfacing or for decomposing ozone within a defined ozone environment. The ultraviolet light source apparatus according to the present invention essentially includes a power source; an ultraviolet (UV) light source in communication with the power source, and a mechanism for powering on and powering off the ultraviolet (UV) light source. The ultraviolet (UV) light source directs ultraviolet light toward a select surface for irradiating the surface or decomposing ozone. The ultraviolet (UV) light source apparatus may be attached to any number of select surfaces or objects or may be utilized to receive and hold objects for treating surfacing thereof.

Targeted Surface Sanitizing Robot

A targeted surface sanitizing robot includes a transport drive and control system powered by batteries and arranged for autonomous movement of the robot to reach areas that need sanitizing. The robot chassis carries two arms that aid in sanitizing. The first arm has UV lights mounted on its underside. This arm swings horizontally and adjusts vertically to reach the surface to be sanitized. The second arm has a gripper at the end that can open a drawer or a closet so that the first arm can then sanitize that surface. The control system mounted on the robot is wirelessly connected to a remote central system that tracks which rooms or surfaces have been cleaned.

An extraction cleaning machine includes a housing with a bottom portion that is adapted to rest on a surface to be cleaned, a fluid delivery system including a fluid distributor, a fluid extraction system including a suction nozzle, at least one carriage assembly mounting an agitation assembly to the housing for movement with respect thereto and with respect to the surface to be cleaned, and an ultraviolet light mounted on at least one of the housing and the carriage assembly to emit ultraviolet light onto the surface to be cleaned.
