Polarizing Sensing for Spectrometers
A spectral measurement device capable of achieving a high level of diffraction efficiency by reducing the polarization sensitivity of the device. Many such embodiments are capable of achieving high diffraction efficiency by fixing the polarization of the incoming light to a fixed polarized state internal to the device, thereby allowing for the full spectrum of light to be captured and measured by the device.

The plurality of spectral sensors are arrayed in the predetermined conveying direction.
SPECTROMETERS WITH RETRO-REFLECTIVE SURFACES AND RELATED INSTRUMENTS
Certain aspects, configurations, embodiments, and examples of a spectrometer with a compact design are described. In some implementations, the spectrometers according to the present disclosure may be used for optical emission spectroscopy (OES). The spectrometer architecture and imager described herein allows a single detector, compact, and high-throughput spectrometer. One or more aspects include an Echelle grating in a spectrometer that reuses optical surfaces to separate wavelengths of light. For example, in one or more aspects, a reflective triplet telescope acts as both a collimator and imager. By reusing optical components, the relative size of the spectrometer may be reduced.

Spectrocolorimetric device and conversation rule setting method
Spectrocolorimetric device includes a light source, a light-receiving unit, a calculation unit, a storage unit, an acquisition unit, and a conversion unit. The light-receiving unit spectroscopically disperses reflected light generated on a surface and measures a spectroscopic spectrum relating to the reflected light. The calculation unit calculates a first spectral reflectance from the spectroscopic spectrum. The storage unit stores relationship information indicating a relationship between a reflectance and a reflectance difference for each wavelength. The acquisition unit acquires reflectance difference for each wavelength between the first spectral reflectance acquired using the spectrocolorimetric device and a second spectral reflectance acquired using a destination-of-conversion spectrocolorimetric device on the basis of the first spectral reflectance and the relationship information. The conversion unit converts the first spectral reflectance into the second spectral reflectance by adding or subtracting the reflectance difference for each wavelength acquired by the acquisition unit to or from the first spectral reflectance.
Systems and methods for optical spectrometer calibration
Systems and methods spectrally and radiometrically calibrate an optical spectrum detected with a color-image sensor of an optical spectrometer. When the color-image sensor includes a Bayer filter, the red-peaked, green-peaked, and blue-peaked spectral responses of the color filters forming the Bayer filter may be used to identify unique spectral signatures in the red, green, and blue color channels. These spectral signatures may be used to associate calibration wavelengths to the pixel locations of the color-image sensor where the spectral signatures are observed. A fitted model may then be used to associate a wavelength to each pixel location of the color-image sensor. These systems and methods account for translational shifts of the optical spectrum on the color-image sensor induced by optical image stabilization, and thus may aid optical spectrometry utilizing a digital camera in a smartphone or tablet computer.
